The sixth lecture of the “Deep Learning Theory and Application Series Online Forum” hosted by CAAI and organized by the CAAI Deep Learning Special Committee will start online on March 30, 2022. The series of forums invite front-line researchers from domestic universities and research institutes to give lectures, covering deep learning, complex systems, swarm intelligence and reinforcement learning, etc. In the context of the global anti-epidemic era, they will bring you all-round exchanges and sharing. This lecture invites Guo Shihui, associate professor of the School of Information, Xiamen University, to give a report “Research on Intelligent Algorithms of Flexible Sensors for Human State Perception”.

Report Title

Research on intelligent algorithm of flexible sensor for human state perception

Report Summary

Clothes are in close contact with people 24 hours a day, which is an ideal carrier for long-term human state monitoring. Flexible sensors can be integrated into normal clothing and monitor the state of the human body, but they are prone to uncontrollable shape changes and position shifts, resulting in complex sensor signal patterns. In recent years, researchers have achieved significant research results in human state monitoring using flexible sensors. These achievements are based on the cutting-edge breakthroughs and deep integration of computer science and materials science: 1) The technology of flexible sensors is gradually maturing, approaching the needs of practical application scenarios; 2) Deep neural networks have achieved great success in feature extraction and signal processing. This report will report some research progress made by the research group in this field.

Speaker

Guo Shihui

Associate Professor, School of Information, Xiamen University

Guo Shihui graduated from Yuanpei College of Peking University with a bachelor's degree in 2010, and obtained a doctorate degree from the National Center for Computational Animation, Bournemouth University, UK in 2015. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. In 2019, he was selected into the joint training project of innovative leading talents of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Royal Academy of Engineering of the United Kingdom. His research interests mainly focus on somatosensory interaction in virtual reality. As the project leader, he has been funded by the General Program/Youth Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the AIR project of the Innovation Research Program of Alibaba Damo Academy, the China Computer Federation-Tencent Rhino-Bird Fund and other projects. He has participated in a research project of the international (regional) cooperation of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As the first author/corresponding author, he has published more than 20 papers in top international conference journals such as ACM CHI, TVCG, Soft Robotics, etc. The related work has been nominated for the CVPR 2020 Best Paper Award and the Best Poster Award of the China Virtual Reality Conference. He served as editorial board member of the international academic journal “Computer Animation & Virtual Worlds”. He is editor-in-chief of the series of textbooks “Augmented Reality Technology and Application”, which were selected as the first batch of recommended textbooks by the Software Engineering Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education.
