From July 26 to 29, 2026, the 2026 China Conference on Granular Computing and Knowledge Discovery (CGCKD2026) was successfully held in Changchun, Jilin. The conference simultaneously encompassed the 26th China Conference on Rough Sets and Soft Computing, the 20th China Conference on Granular Computing, and the 14th Conference on Three-Support Decision Making. It was organized by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), co-organized by the CAAI Special Committee on Granular Computing and Knowledge Discovery, supported by the International Society for Rough Sets, and jointly hosted by Changchun Normal University and Changchun University of Science and Technology. More than 500 experts, scholars, and young faculty and students from over 100 universities and research institutions across the country gathered in Changchun to focus on cutting-edge fields such as granular computing, uncertainty-aware artificial intelligence, knowledge mining, and trustworthy intelligence, engaging in high-level, multi-faceted academic exchanges and intellectual discussions.

Guests attending the opening ceremony included He You, Vice President of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Wu Guangfeng, Vice President of Changchun Normal University; Wang Chao, Vice President of Changchun University of Science and Technology; Zhang Deli, former Vice President of Changchun Normal University and Director of the Jilin Provincial Key Laboratory of Mathematics, Soft Computing, and Applications; Liang Jiye, former Vice President of Shanxi University and Chair of the CCF Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition; and Hu Qinghua of Tianjin University, Chair of the CAAI Special Committee on Granular Computing and Knowledge Discovery. experts delivering invited presentations, as well as relevant officials from the host institution's Office of Research and Office of Academic Affairs. The opening ceremony was presided over by Liang Sihua, Dean of the School of Mathematics at Changchun Normal University.

Wang Guoyin, Supervisor of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and Party Secretary and President of Chongqing Normal University, delivered the opening remarks. He noted that, after decades of dedicated development, the China Conference on Granular Computing and Knowledge Discovery has become a highly authoritative and influential flagship platform in the fields of uncertainty-aware artificial intelligence and multi-granularity cognitive computing in China. With large-scale model technology currently undergoing rapid iteration, issues such as insufficient AI explainability, difficulties in uncertainty modeling, and the challenges of knowledge mining from complex data have become core bottlenecks constraining the industry's development. Leveraging its core strengths of hierarchical granularity, hierarchical cognition, and hierarchical reasoning-which align with the laws of human cognition-granular computing can effectively address the underlying technical pain points of large models. It represents a crucial breakthrough in the innovation of fundamental AI theories and provides a solid, original theoretical foundation for the development of next-generation trustworthy AI.
