From July 24 to 26, 2026, the 11th CAAI National Conference on Big Data and Social Computing (BDSC2026), organized by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and hosted by the CAAI Technical Committee on Social Computing and Social Intelligence and Chongqing University, with the support of the School of Public Administration at Chongqing Technology and Business University and the School of Computer and Information Science at Chongqing Normal University, was held in Chongqing. Experts and scholars from various fields, including artificial intelligence, social sciences, and information science, gathered at the conference to jointly explore new research approaches toward social computing that fosters human-machine symbiosis.

The establishment of this conference's theme marks the ongoing evolution of thinking in the field of social computing. The conference's scope has shifted from the previous edition's focus on "Resilient Societies in the Age of Intelligence" to a new phase of "human-machine symbiosis"; the research focus has shifted from exploring the resilience and recovery capabilities of social systems in intelligent environments to exploring new paradigms of deep integration and co-evolution between humans and machine intelligence. This shift profoundly reflects the academic community's forward-looking insights into the new phase of artificial intelligence development: as AI technology advances in depth, humanity is moving beyond the stage of being aided by intelligent tools and entering a new era of deep human-machine collaboration. This transformation presents entirely new opportunities and challenges for the theoretical foundations, methodological innovations, and application paradigms of social computing. Against this backdrop, this conference is dedicated to establishing a high-level platform for academic exchange, fostering the exchange and collision of cutting-edge academic ideas, distilling key scientific questions in the field, exploring a scientific agenda for the coordinated development of intelligent technologies and social governance, and jointly charting a blueprint for future social computing science characterized by harmonious human-machine coexistence and intelligence for the greater good.

On the morning of July 25, the conference opened with great fanfare. During the opening ceremony, representatives from the organizing and hosting institutions delivered speeches.Xiang Tao, Dean of the School of Computer Science at Chongqing University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony as a representative of the hosting institution. He outlined Chongqing University's efforts in developing computer science programs and highlighted the School of Computer Science's academic focus and research achievements in fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, and advanced computing. Xiang Tao noted that this conference brings together the nation's top research talent, establishing a high-level platform for the exchange of ideas, the sharing of findings, and collaborative research. He expressed his hope that all experts and scholars would speak freely, engage in in-depth discussions, and spark intellectual exchange to jointly explore scientific pathways and governance solutions for the era of human-machine symbiosis.
