
From July 24 to 26, 2026, the 2026 National Conference on Multilingual Intelligent Information Processing (IMLIP 2026), organized by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and jointly hosted by the CAAI Technical Committee on Multilingual Intelligent Information Processing and Kunming University of Science and Technology, was successfully held in Kunming, Yunnan. More than 300 delegates from over 140 universities, research institutions, and enterprises across the country gathered in Kunming to discuss the latest advances and future directions in the field of multilingual intelligent information processing.
The conference featured a distinguished organizing committee, with Professor Wushour Slamu of Xinjiang University, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, serving as Honorary Chair. Professor Sun Maosong of Tsinghua University, Chair of the CAAI Technical Committee on Multilingual Intelligent Information Processing, and Professor Yu Zhengtao of Kunming University of Science and Technology jointly serve as Conference Chairs; Professor Zhang Huaping of Beijing Institute of Technology, Secretary-General of the CAAI Technical Committee on Multilingual Intelligent Information Processing, and Professor Mao Cunli of Kunming University of Science and Technology serve as Chairs of the Program Committee; and Professor Li Lei of Beijing Institute of Technology, Professor Huang Yuxin of Kunming University of Science and Technology, and Professor Tan Xuewen of Yunnan Minzu University serve as Chairs of the Organizing Committee.
The opening ceremony of the conference, held on the morning of July 24, was presided over by Professor Yu Zhengtao of Kunming University of Science and Technology. Professor Pan Xuejun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Kunming University of Science and Technology, delivered a welcome address, providing an overview of the university and extending a warm welcome to the guests attending the conference. Professor Dai Qionghai of Tsinghua University-Chair of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering-and Professor Wushour Slamu of Xinjiang University, also an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered opening remarks. They expressed their expectations regarding the development of multilingual resources and cross-disciplinary collaborative innovation, and encouraged young researchers to ground their work in national needs, pursue truth and pragmatism, and dare to innovate.
