The CAAI-Tencent Rhinoceros Bird Research Program is jointly initiated by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and Tencent, aiming to build a strong industry-academia collaboration ecosystem to jointly tackle key core AI technologies and explore cutting-edge research directions.

On January 22, 2026, the CAAI issued a call for research proposals, releasing 26 research topics in areas including large model generation, understanding, and agents. An open topic category was also established to encourage and support frontier exploration of next-generation intelligent paradigms.

Following eligibility review, expert correspondence review, and panel review, a total of 28 projects have been selected this year. The selection list for the 2026 CAAI-Tencent Rhinoceros Bird Research Program is hereby announced (see attached table). The public notice period is three days, from March 24, 2026, to March 26, 2026.

Any individual or institution with objections to the announced review results must submit a signed complaint to the CAAI Office before 24:00 on March 26, 2026. Anonymous complaints will not be accepted.
