The 7th IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing and Intelligence Systems 2021 (CCIS 2021) was successfully held online on November 7-8, affected by the epidemic. Experts from universities, research institutes, and enterprises share their research and collide their views on the latest academic achievements related to cloud computing and artificial intelligence, and promote international exchange and cooperation in this field. The conference opening ceremony and the main report session were broadcast live online, attracting over 980,000 people to watch online.
Exchange cutting-edge technology and share hot new trends
At the beginning of the conference, Prof. Shi Guangming, Vice President of Xidian University, Academician Huang Wei of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Wang Xiaoyang of Fudan University delivered opening speeches for the conference.
In Prof. Shi Guangming's peech, he welcomed the scholars and audience to the conference. He pointed out that the four speakers of this conference are all well-known experts and scholars in the field, who will share their insights and bring academic exchanges and collisions.
In Academician Huang Wei's speech, he said that the conference has been following the cutting-edge technologies and hot new trends in the fields of computational intelligence, computer vision, big data models and data mining, deep learning, hybrid intelligence and complex systems, machine learning and neural network applications since it was held in 2010. It is believed that the latest technologies discussed in this conference will be very rewarding for everyone.
In Prof. Wang Xiaoyang's speech,he noted that this conference covers the most important areas of "cloud computing and intelligence systems" for social development, providing a high-quality forum for researchers and practitioners to present the latest theoretical and practical work. Experts and scholars will also discuss many challenging issues.
Gathering the achievements of industry, academia and research, and understanding the new dynamics of research
The conference featured four keynote presentations by renowned experts, presenting current academic dynamics and trend exploration from all walks of life in industry, academia and research, and providing new research ideas and directions for practitioners and learners in related fields.
Academician Xu Zongben of the Chinese Academy of Sciences gave a keynote speech on "How to break through the a priori assumptions of machine learning?”. Machine learning is the most basic and core technology (algorithm) of artificial intelligence, but the implementation of machine learning is usually based on a set of basic a priori assumptions, including: the assumption of large capacity of hypothesis space, the assumption of completeness of training data, the assumption of data independence of loss measure, the assumption of empirical setting of regular terms, and the assumption of Euclidean space of analysis framework. In his report, Academician Xu Zongben analyzed the roles and limitations of these assumptions and their impacts, and proposed possible ways and methods to break through these basic assumptions.
Professor Shi Guangming, Vice President of Xidian University , brought a content sharing on "Bionic Video Sensing and Target Information Processing", which addresses the problems of poor imaging quality and difficult capture of moving targets by traditional optical cameras under backlight conditions, reverses the information acquisition mode and photoelectric conversion method of imaging system, and researches the integrated system of bionic dynamic imaging and intelligence recognition. The new sensor is not limited by exposure time and frame rate, and features large dynamic range (>100dB, 2 orders of magnitude higher than traditional cameras), high-speed imaging (equivalent frame rate >10,000 frames/second), and low data volume, which can effectively capture fast moving targets and generate intelligence information in real time under extreme lighting conditions.
Professor Shi Guangming
Professor Bai Xiang from Huazhong University of Science and Technology presented the research results of "3D target monitoring based on multimodal fusion". Professor Bai Xiang first introduced the basics and basic methods of 3D target detection; then, he focused on the current research status of 3D target detection based on multimodal fusion; finally, he shared the practical application of 3D target detection based on multimodal fusion.
Professor Bai Xiang
Mr. Wang Wei, COO of Weibo, shared the industrial exploration of "Data-based AI Empowerment Driving intelligence Development of Platform Business". He pointed out that with the integration of big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other technologies with the mobile Internet, the Internet has gradually transitioned from the mobile era to the intelligence information era. SINA is responding to the development of the times and building an intelligence information platform through intelligence empowerment, empowering its core business and providing intelligence information services to users and partners.
Prof. Shen Chunhua from University of Adelaide, President Shen Shengmei, Chief Scientist of Pensees, and Prof. Gong Maoguo from Xidian University were the moderators of the conference.
Deep research on seven technology hotspots to drive theoretical and application breakthroughs
From basic algorithms to application research, the conference deeply focuses on the seven core hot technologies of big data modeling and data mining, computational intelligence, computer vision, deep learning, machine learning, hybrid intelligence and complex systems, and neural network applications, bringing together excellent academic results to share and drive theoretical research and application breakthroughs in related fields.
Professor Xu Ruifeng from Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Associate Professor Wu Yue from Xidian University, Associate Researcher Ren Wenqi from Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Associate Professor Shi Jiao from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Professor Yin Xiaoyan from Northwest University, Professor Li Ming, Vice President of School of Artificial Intelligence, Nanjing University, and Professor Huang Xiaohong, Director of Information Network Center, School of Computer Science, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, served as the chairs of the seven thematic subgroups They chaired the discussions and exchanges during the two-day conference.
