The "Interdisciplinary Symposium on Biological and Intelligent Youth PI" hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and co-organized by the CAAI Bioinformatics and Artificial Life Committee and Tsinghua University was successfully held in Beijing on December 15, 2019.

Attendees are Researcher Zhang ZHANG from Institute of Computing Technology, Researcher Fangqing ZHAO from Beijing Institute of Life Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher Shihua ZHANG from Institute of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Qu Kun from University of Science and Technology of China, professors Qinghua CUI, Ge GAO and Chuanjun LI from Peking University, and professors Xiaowo WANG, Zhen XIE, Qiangfeng ZHANG, and Jianyang ZENG from Tsinghua University.

The meeting was chaired by Xiaowo WANG, the deputy director of the Bioinformatics and Artificial Life Committee of the CAAI. Zhen XIE made a research report entitled "Design and Synthesis Optimization of Smart Living Drugs” followed by Qiangfeng ZHANG’s report entitled "Single Cell Chromosome Open Structure Analysis and Gene Expression Regulation Network Construction". Zeng Jianyang made a report entitled "Machine Intelligent Enabling New Drug Development". In addition, the participating experts and professors discussed how to strengthen the exchange and cooperation of young scholars in the field of bioinformatics in China, and discussed the effective ways and methods of cultivating students in the disciplines of biology and information.
