In order to promote the construction of the advanced S&T Innovation Think-tank, according to the Detailed Implementation Rules of the Junior Fellowships of CAST Advanced S&T Innovation Think-tank Program, CAST Coordination Research and Propaganda Department has launched the implementation of the 2017 Junior Fellowships of CAST Advanced S&T Innovation Think-tank Program.
The project aims to give full play to the important role of project funding in cultivating the innovative and scientific research capabilities of young science and technology policy researchers, strengthen the cultivation of innovative young talents, and build a reserve talent team for S&T innovation think-tanks of the CAST.
According to the Notice on Applying for the 2017 Junior Fellowships of CAST Advanced S&T Innovation Think-tank Program, Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), as the project reporting unit, will recommend candidates for the project implementation to the CAST. Now we solicits candidates for recommendation to CAAI members. The relevant notices are as follows:
1. Introduction
Junior Fellowships of CAST Advanced S&T Innovation Think-tank Program aims to strengthen the core position of young talents in the development of science and technology innovation think-tanks of CAST, and encourage to launch high-level and original academic achievements around the frontier hotspots and major theoretical and practical issues related to the construction of advanced science and technology think-tanks.
In 2016, CAST provided financial support for 100 million yuan per item for the sponsors, with a term of one year.
II. The Conditions of Application
(I) The applicant should conduct research in the field of scientific and technological policy and the intersection of economy, society, science and technology, industry, culture and policy. As for this application, applicants should prepare the topic himself or herself, and have a considerable research foundation in this field;
(II) Applicants are required to be full-time off-campus doctoral students of second grade and above, or post-doctoral students;
(III) The applicant's age should be below 35 years old (include 35), with a solid theoretical foundation and academic research foundation and innovation potential;
(IV) Applicants should guarantee that the research work based on the subject of the declaration for one year of the funding period lasts more than 10 months;
(V) The application and research of the project should be recommended by the instructor who promises to provide guidance and support during the implementation of the project.
III. The Application Requirements and Submission
(I) Members who meet the above requirements are supposed to fill in the Project Declaration Form according to the requirements of the documents, and send electronic documents to the Secretariat of the CAAI before March 22, 2017. The CAAI will review the applicant's materials, determine the candidates for the Science and Technology Association and notify them.
(II) After receiving the notice from the CAAI, the applicants shall modify and improve the Project Declaration Form and provide 11 copies of the paper text containing the signature of the person and the instructor. The deadline for submission of paper application materials is March 25, 2017 (subject to the delivery time). Materials will not be accepted after the deadline.
(III) The CAAI will affix the official seal after receiving Project Declaration Form in paper form and submit it to the China Association for Science and Technology.
