Recommendation work for 2017 excellent doctoral dissertation of China association for artificial intelligence (CAAI) has started. The award is to promote scientific and technological progress in the field of artificial intelligence in China, encourage innovative research, promote the growth of young talents, and recognize doctoral degree winners in China who have made outstanding achievements. We hereby notify the following matters concerning the recommended candidate papers in 2017:

1.     Evaluation conditions:

1)     The selection of this excellent doctoral dissertation is the dissertation that passed the defense of doctoral dissertation and engaged in artificial intelligence research in China during January 1, 2015 solstice and December 31, 2016;

2)     Doctoral dissertations to participate in the selection shall be recommended by colleges (departments) or research institutions with computer science and technology, software engineering, control science and engineering and other related majors. Each institute shall recommend no more than 3 dissertations to participate in the evaluation. Papers that have been evaluated may not be recommended again;

3)     For the specific conditions and constraints of evaluation, please refer to the regulations on selection of excellent doctoral dissertation of Chinese association for artificial intelligence.

2.     Application materials:

1) One printed paper;

2) One electronic paper;

3) Recommendation form of CAAI excellent doctoral dissertation (must be signed by the person in charge of the unit where the author is defending and sealed by the unit);

4) The paper recommended by the committee should be submitted with the recommendation form signed by the director of the committee;

5) Opinions of the defense committee;

6) Other relevant supporting materials.

3. The application materials must be submitted to the CAAI before 17:00 on March 27, 2017.

4. Selection schedule:

1). Acceptance: from now to March 27, 2017;

2) Format and qualification examination: March 28 to April 3, 2017;

3) Preliminary evaluation: from April 4, 2017 to May 1, 2017, peer experts conducted preliminary evaluation of the application materials, and selected no more than 20 candidate excellent doctoral dissertations;

4) Initial evaluation and publicity: May 2 to May 15, 2017;

5) Final assessment: from May 16, 2017 to May 31, the CAAI final assessment committee will make a final assessment, and no more than 10 winners will be selected.

6) Final announcement: from June 1, 2017 to June 15, 2017.
