V．Activity details

1.  Rules and regulations

（1）All levels of academies, research societies, associations of science and technology at all levels, and photography groups should earnestly organize to solicit contributions and participate in the competition. Photographers are also welcome to participate in the competition in their own names.

（2）The winning works are collected by the host and can be used for various non-commercial purposes. No additional remuneration will be paid to the organizer for the exhibition, production of picture album and network communication related to the popularization of science.

（3）Contributors should ensure that the submitted works have independent, complete, clear and undisputed copyright, and shall also ensure that the works do not infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of third parties (including copyright, right of portrait, right of reputation, right of privacy, etc.). Contributors shall bear all responsibilities arising from their contributions and contributions.

（4）All contributors shall be deemed to agree the provisions of this notice, and the organizing committee of this competition shall have the final interpretation right.

2. Award setting

Works award and excellent organization award:

(1) Works award

5 first prize winners, each prize of 5000 RMB; 10 second prize winners, each prize of 3000 RMB; 15 third prizes, each prize of 1000 RMB; 100 excellent prizes, each prize of 300 RMB; 100 finalists. Certificates will also be awarded for works.

(2) Excellent organization award

10 Units and groups will be awarded with certificates.

3. Entry requirements

(1) Number of entries: different entries can be submitted to different categories by the same contributor. The same work shall not be repeatedly submitted to different categories. The total number of pieces submitted by each contributor shall not exceed 10 (including 10 pieces). Both single and group photos can be submitted (each group is limited to 4-10 pieces). Each piece of work shall be accompanied by no less than 20 words of description.

(2) Entries should deeply express popular science theme by using photography skills. Color, black and white photos can be exhibited. Image processing software can be used to saturation, contrast, exposure, cutting and other reasonable adjustment. The original image shall not be synthesized, added or subtracted, or altered to affect its authenticity.

(3) No entry fee will be charged for the contest, and all submitted works will be electronic version. Mobile photography works are allowed to be submitted. The electronic version should be within 1200 pixels on the long side and the file size should not exceed 800K.

After the works are selected, the organizers will collect the original data files of the works for exhibition and album production. The author must submit the original digital file (film to be scanned) to the organizer within the specified time. If the provider fails to submit the original digital file within the specified time, he/she will automatically forfeit his/her admission to the exhibition. If the photo is inconsistent with the electronic version (negative), it will be disqualified.

(4) The entries must be original. Any fake entries will be disqualified. In addition to “enlightening scientific thinking” theme works can use computer. And the original image is declined to change (photos can only make brightness, contrast, color saturation of moderate adjustment, not for synthesis, add, greatly change color and other technical processing).

(5) Information can be found on the website of China popular science photography contest, and the relevant media will publish it.

4. Selection of entries

In order to ensure the fairness and justice of the selection of the contest works, the contest will invite experts from the fields of science popularization and photography to form the “China science popularization photography competition works evaluation committee”, which is responsible for the selection of the entries.

5. Holding award ceremony for winning works

After the selection of China science photography competition, 100 outstanding works will be selected by activities of the organizing committee from the winning entries. in the middle of September. The works were held in the middle of September during the international photography exhibition “the sixth China popular science photography exhibition” in Pingyao, which were exhibited in major popular science activities, and invited winners and representatives of excellent organizations to receive the award at the opening ceremony.

6. Award-winning works are printed and published
