Notice of the 15th Award for China Young Woman in Science and Recommendation of the Candidates for the 2018 future Woman Scientist Program

To study and implement Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the China’s 19 th National People’s Congress of the CPC, in-depth study and implement the important speech spirit at the conference of the academicians in the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering by the general secretary , Xi jinping , and to  train a large number of talents in strategic science and technology with international level, leading and youth talents and in science and technology, and innovation teams with high levels. To arouse the enthusiasm innovation for the majority of female workers in science and technology, inherit and carry forward the spirit of Chinese scientists, and to share wisdom and contribute strength for building an advanced country in science and technology. In accordance with China’s Association for Science and Technology group of words [2018] no. 34, the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence has launched the notice of the 15th award for China Young Woman in Science and recommendation of the candidates for the 2018 Future Woman Scientist Program. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

the 15th award for China Young Woman in Science

1.    The scopes and conditions of the selection

One should support the party's line, principles and policies, be firm in ideology and politics, love the motherland, be honest in work style, abide by discipline and law, have a good style of study, and scrupulously abide by the scientific ethics;

Leading talents who made significant discoveries and achievements in the field of basic science and life science. In particular, we will pay more attention to recommend the leading talents in the innovation team;

Chinese female scientific workers under the age of 45(born on or after July 1,1973)

The scope of the selection will not include the field of engineering technology and the field of confidentiality.

Numbers of the recommendation

1 or 2 candidates in the AI field will be selected by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence

Nomination of experts

Scope

Members of the standing committee of the 9 th national committee of the China Association for Science and Technology;

Academicians in the China Academy of Sciences and the China Academy of Engineering (excluding foreign academicians).

Past winners of the China Young Woman in Science (excluding future female scientists).

Requirements

The nominated experts shall be under the age of 65, and the academicians shall be under the age of 70.

Rules

Three nominated experts can jointly nominate one candidate for the 15th award for China young woman in science in their discipline (first-level discipline).

Responsibilities and obligations

The nominating experts shall undertake the responsibility of nominating, objection and reply, and shall be responsible for the authenticity and accuracy of relevant materials;

The nominating experts shall be subject to the consent of the candidates and his/her work unit before the formal nomination to the China Association for Science and Technology.

The nominated experts shall strictly abide by the relevant confidentiality provisions and the withdrawal system.

The 2018 future female scientists program

Scope and requirements

Love the motherland, abide by discipline and law, honest and trustworthy, study diligently and assiduously, have good style of study and moral quality, show strong scientific research ability and development potential

Work in the field of basic science or life science, except for research projects involving animals (such as laboratory vertebrates) and cosmetics;

1.    Chinese female under the age of 35 (born on or after July 1, 1983) as a doctoral candidate or an in-station postdoc (the candidate's student status or working relationship should be in China, and the doctoral candidate should be full-time);

Having scientific research projects to be funded under the scheme, and the research duration of the project after the grant is not less than 12 months.

Numbers of recommendation

1 or 2 candidates in the AI field will be selected by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence

Requirements

Each candidate is required to participate in the award for China young woman in science or the future female scientist program, and cannot participate in two projects at the same time.

Adhere to the principle of “open, fair, just, merit-based “broaden the channels of recommendation, strict selection conditions, to ensure the quality of the selection.

The candidates for the award for China young woman in science should focus on outstanding young female scientists who have been working in the front-line of scientific research and production, and the excellent young female scientific and technological workers in western region ( the underdeveloped area in China) for a long time. The future female scientists program recommends candidates who focus not only on the achievements and potential of the research they have undertaken, but also on the innovation of the projects they intend to apply for funding.

Candidate's recommendation materials should be brief and to the point. Relevant reports of non-academic newspapers, journals and websites shall not be used as supporting materials, and relevant columns of the recommendation form shall not be filled in for non-academic posts (part-time) or non-science and technology awards. The electronic version of the material and the corresponding paper version of the material must be consistent.

The candidate's recommendation materials shall not involve state secrets, and the candidate's employer shall issue a certificate of confidentiality examination. Materials that violate the confidentiality provisions shall be disqualified from recommendation.

Requirements for submitting materials

The recommended materials submitted include electronic materials and written materials.

Electronic materials

Electronic materials shall be submitted through the award for China young woman in science recommend and review of management system (http://qnnkxjj.cast.org.cn). Please register with the “candidate registration password” and fill in the form. “Recommended unit user name, password, candidate registration code” will be sent separately, you can contact information below. The deadline for online submission is September 8, 2018.

Written materials of the candidates for the award for China young woman in science.

 “The recommendation form of candidates for the 15th award for China young woman in science” is in 5 copies, including 1 original and 4 copies. Please do not attach the cover. the recommendation form must be printed in the system after successfully filling in the electronic materials with the recommendation and evaluation management system of the award for China young woman in science.

1 set of attached materials, including representative papers (no more than 3), catalogues of major scientific and technological achievements, references, technical appraisal, intellectual property rights, technical applications, awards and other relevant certification materials. Monographs (no more than 1) may be attached separately.

Certificate of confidentiality examination issued by the candidate's employer.

Future female scientists program candidates for written materials

 “The candidate recommendation form of the 2018 future female scientist program is” in 5 copies, including 1 original and 4 copies. the recommendation form must be printed in the system after successfully filling in the electronic materials with the recommendation and the award for China young woman in science.

Doctoral students should provide a certificate issued by the graduate school, indicating the major and the proposed graduation date; Postdoctoral degree certificate and work agreement are required.

Certificate of confidentiality examination issued by the candidate's employer (school).

Submission requirements for expert nomination.

The nominating experts shall sign his/her recommendation and signature on the recommendation form of the candidate nominated by him/her. Before the nomination experts start the nomination work, they can contact the following contact information to obtain the user name and password of the system.
