On 15th December, 2018, CAAI Member Service Working Committee (MSWC) held a meeting for its leadership transition in Fuzhou. To recruit more members, enhance the member service ability and boost CAAI’s development, CAAI established MSWC in 2013 with five years as a term. The first transition took place this year, and MSWC achieved a sound and steady succession in order. Contributors to CAAI from different industries have come on the stage to give new impetus to the development of CAAI members and the construction of member service.

CAAI MSWC Leadership Transition Meeting

Liu Hong, Vice President of CAAI and the professor of Peking University, gave a speech on behalf of CAAI to highly praise the achievements over the past five years in member development and service, organization building, brand activity design, CAAI’s influence promotion and the bridge-and-bond impact on the asociation and members. Wang Weining, Secretary-General of CAAI, Director of MSWC and the[1]  researcher of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, made a report about the development of MSWC in its first session from three aspects – founding background, overall performance and special activities. Besides, he analyzed and summarized the outcomes in the past and pointed out the improving direction.

After the deliberation and secret ballot of all delegates, the second session of CAAI MSWC leader group was democratically elected. Researcher Wang Weining was elected as the chairman, and vice-chairmen included Professor Chen Wenbai, Vice President of School of Automation at Beijing Information, Science and Technology University; Fan Liyang, Executive President of The Force; Gu Yu, Professor of School of Computer Science and Information at HeFei University of Technology; Professor Huan Jun, Director of Baidu Beijing Big Data Laboratory; Associate Professor Liu Yiqun, Secretary of the Party committee of Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University; Tang Zhu, Senior Manager of Foreign Cooperation in IBM; Wang Chao, Professor of School of Communications and Information Engineering at Shanghai University; Xiong Minghui, Professor of Department of Philosophy at Sun Yat-Sen University.

Professor Han Liqun, Former Vice President of CAAI and Director of Product and Industry Working Committee of CAAI, made a summary about this meeting on behalf of MSWC. He hoped that the new committee members remain true to our original aspiration so as to serve members and make great contributions to the development of China AI industry.      

After the success of this leadership transition meeting, the second session of MSWC started the first standing committee meeting, which marked the opening of the new chapter of MSWC. The committee members talked and shared opinions with each other. Based on the great present situation and carried by the wave of artificial intelligence, they would make joint efforts to build the world-class academy through constantly improving and expanding the member network and precisely developing members with great effects during recruiting and serving members.
