Artificial intelligence is a key driver of the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation. Promoting public understanding of AI and bringing cutting-edge technologies to grassroots communities to serve society are important ways to enhance the scientific literacy of the entire population and support regional innovation and development.The "AI Science Popularization Tour of Yunnan" organized by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) is a science popularization initiative launched by the CAAI Youth Working Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "CAAI Youth Committee"). From August 6 to 16, 2026, the event team will travel to Kunming City, Honghe Prefecture, Wenshan Prefecture, Nujiang Prefecture, and other locations in Yunnan Province to conduct AI science popularization and practical exchanges through specialized lectures, case studies, tool demonstrations, interactive experiences, and on-site discussions.

This event is aimed at local grassroots workers, new media professionals, and young people returning to their hometowns. It seeks to disseminate basic knowledge of artificial intelligence, showcase the achievements and future prospects of AI technology in the media industry, and help participants understand how AI can support information dissemination, cultural expression, and the promotion of local resources. The event also aims to further expand the application scenarios of AI technology in serving the development of frontier regions, thereby injecting new vitality into the cultivation of new media talent, the dissemination of distinctive local cultures, and digital content innovation in these areas.
