From July 17 to 20, 2026, the "2026 CAAI Annual Conference on Discrete Intelligent Computing and the 25th National Conference on Discrete Mathematics," hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and jointly organized by the School of Information Science and Technology (School of Cyberspace Security) at Shihezi University and the CAAI Technical Committee on Discrete Intelligent Computing, was held in Shihezi. Experts and scholars from universities, research institutes, and related industries across the country gathered in Shihezi to engage in in-depth discussions on topics such as cutting-edge developments in discrete intelligent computing, educational reforms in discrete mathematics, and the role of artificial intelligence in empowering industrial development.

Li Luhua, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President, and Head of the Organization Department at Shihezi University, delivered an opening address. She noted that as the new round of technological revolution accelerates, artificial intelligence has become a key driver of high-quality development. She emphasized that this conference, which focuses on the fundamental theories and cutting-edge issues of discrete intelligent computing, represents a proactive effort to support the national artificial intelligence development strategy. She expressed hope that this conference would serve as an opportunity to further promote interdisciplinary collaboration and talent exchange, drive the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology with the economic and social development needs of Xinjiang and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and inject new vitality into the high-quality development of frontier regions.

Gu Tianlong, Chair of the CAAI Special Committee on Discrete Intelligent Computing, outlined the committee's development in recent years and commended its achievements in academic exchange, talent development, and the commercialization of research outcomes. He noted that discrete mathematics serves as a crucial theoretical foundation for the development of artificial intelligence, and emphasized the need to further strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and collaborative innovation to promote the deep integration of scientific research, education, and industry. Moving forward, the committee will leverage the platform of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence to continue strengthening the cultivation of young talent and the development of the academic community.
