
On June 28, the first Qingyuan Forum of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI)-a symposium on "Multimodal Intelligence and Multimedia Computing"-was held at the Academic Conference Center of Inner Mongolia University. The forum was organized by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), hosted by Inner Mongolia University and the CAAI Youth Committee, and co-organized by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Artificial Intelligence Society and its Youth Committee. Focusing on cutting-edge areas such as multimodal intelligence, multimedia computing, multimodal large models, intelligent visual perception, embodied intelligence, media content governance, and scientific intelligent computing, the forum attracted more than 200 faculty members and students from universities and research institutions.
Professor Jia Bing, Associate Dean of the School of Computer Science at Inner Mongolia University, presided over the opening ceremony. Professor Yao Haipeng, Director of the CAAI Youth Committee, delivered a speech (online). He noted that the Qingyuan Forum, built upon the Society's "Qingyuan Scholars" program for cultivating young talent, aims to establish a series of high-level academic exchange platforms to encourage young scholars to delve deeply into basic research and promote interdisciplinary innovation. He expressed his hope that hosting the inaugural forum at Inner Mongolia University would further energize the innovative momentum of young AI researchers.
Remarks by Professor Zhou Jiantao, Vice President of Inner Mongolia University Professor Zhou Jiantao, Vice President of Inner Mongolia University, delivered remarks on behalf of the host institution. She welcomed the leaders, experts, scholars, and young talents in attendance at the forum and outlined the university's foundational work and achievements in disciplines such as computer science and technology, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. She noted that this forum, which focuses on cutting-edge areas of artificial intelligence, aligns with critical application needs in digital content understanding, smart education, ecological and environmental monitoring, media content governance, and regional social governance. It will play a positive role in advancing the development of relevant disciplines at the university, fostering the growth of young faculty members, and broadening students' academic horizons.
