On the morning of June 5, the "CAAI University Tour" special session at Shanghai Jiao Tong University was successfully held. Chen Wenbo, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), led an expert team for the presentation. Attendees included Lu Qi, Deputy Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology Development and Director of the Office of Academic Development and Achievements at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, relevant staff from the Achievement Award Office, research management leaders from various departments, and frontline faculty representatives in the field of artificial intelligence. The session was chaired by Ding Lei, Deputy Director of the Office of Academic Development and Achievements.
Lu Qi delivered the welcome address on behalf of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He noted that Shanghai Jiao Tong is one of the earliest universities in China to establish AI research programs, with numerous achievements having received the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award. The university has long aligned its efforts with industry-recognized awards such as the Wu Wenjun Award, continuously refining its original research capabilities and steadily advancing the cultivation of high-level achievements across various fields. He expressed the hope that this session would help more high-quality research outcomes participate in award evaluations and serve as a bridge to deepen routine collaboration between the university and CAAI.
During the presentation, Professor Chen Wenbo provided an in-depth interpretation of five major areas - CAAI overview, selection criteria for the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award, CAAI scientific and technological achievement evaluation, academic funding and computing support, and the development of the Youth Working Committee - using practical examples. He focused on analyzing the application requirements, review guidelines, and key evaluation criteria for the Wu Wenjun Award, offering clear guidance for the university's organized award applications, and systematically outlined the various research support resources available through CAAI. Following the presentation, attending faculty members engaged in discussions with experts on practical issues such as award applications and project collaboration.
