AI+Biomedical Interdisciplinary Seminar Successfully Held in Shanghai

From December 27 to 28, 2024, the "AI+Biomedical Interdisciplinary Seminar" was held in Shanghai. The event was hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and organised by the CAAI Special Committee on Bioinformatics and Artificial Life, Fudan University, Tongji University, and the Key Laboratory of Computational Neuroscience and Brain-Inspired Intelligence of the Ministry of Education.

The seminar featured reports and discussions from distinguished speakers, including Professor Zeng Jianyang from Westlake University, Professor Cui Xuefeng from the School of Computer Science and Technology at Shandong University, Professor Gu Jin from Tsinghua University, Professor Li Chuanyun from Peking University, Professor Li Tingting from Peking University, Professor Wang Xiaowo from Tsinghua University, Professor Wang Yong from the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Yang Xuerui from Tsinghua University, Professor Zhang Yong from Tongji University, Researcher Zhang Shihua from the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Zhang Zhang from the Beijing Institute of Genomics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Zhao Fangqing from the Beijing Institute of Life Sciences at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Zhao Xingming from Fudan University. The seminar was chaired by Professor Zhang Yong from Tongji University.

The seminar consisted of two parts. The first part featured presentations on cutting-edge topics, with Professor Zhao Xingming from Fudan University delivering a talk titled "Stage-Specific Gut Microbiota in Alzheimer's Disease and Its Association with Host Genetics", and Professor Zhang Yong from Tongji University presenting "From Biomolecular Condensate to Transcriptional Regulatory Model".

The second part was an academic roundtable discussion, where participating experts explored topics related to the latest academic advancements and research trends in the interdisciplinary field of AI+biomedicine, both domestically and internationally.

The seminar aimed to provide a platform for researchers to exchange and explore ideas, share cutting-edge research findings, and discuss the applications of artificial intelligence in areas such as biological network analysis, drug target discovery, and precision medicine. The event was marked by an active atmosphere and lively discussions, with in-depth interactions between attending faculty, students, and experts on the presented topics and advanced AI technology.
