The Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) launched the candidate selection process for the Youth Talent Support Program in the field of artificial intelligence under the guidance of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) on August 31, 2024. This initiative thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as the second and third plenary sessions of the 20th Central Committee, and to carry out the directives of the National Science and Technology Conference. It aims to support high-level technological self-reliance and promote the growth of young scientific talents.

CAAI received application materials from 47 candidates. Following a review of materials and an initial evaluation, 15 candidates advanced to the final defense round. The final evaluation meeting was held on November 16, 2024, in Hangzhou. According to relevant regulations, a total of 8 candidates were ultimately selected: 2 candidates will receive financial support from CAST, and 6 candidates will be funded by CAAI. The list of selected candidates is hereby disclosed for public notice. The public notice period lasts for seven days, from November 17 to November 23, 2024.
