From October 18th to 20th, 2024, the 7th Chinese Conference on Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision (PRCV 2024) was successfully held in Urumqi. It was a top-level academic event in the field of pattern recognition and computer vision in China. And it was jointly organized by the China Association of Automation (CAA), China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG), China Artificial Intelligence Society (CAAI), and China Computer Federation (CCF). Its organizers are from Xinjiang University, the conference was co-hosted by the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Science and Technology Association, China VisionTech (Nanjing) Technology Co., Ltd., and the Urumqi Branch of CCF.

The conference focused on the new challenges, issues, and development directions in the field of pattern recognition and computer vision, aiming to showcase the latest research progress in this field in China. The conference featured a rich agenda, including four keynote speeches, eight invited talks, eleven special sessions, and numerous oral presentations. Additionally, renowned experts from both domestic and international communities were invited to deliver special reports, attracting professionals from universities, research institutions, and enterprises across the country. On the morning of October 19th, the conference opened grandly at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center, attracting nearly 1,600 participants on-site.
