On October 18th, 2024, the handover meeting of the CAAI Professional Committee of Pattern Recognition was successfully held in Urumqi, Xinjiang. It was presided by professor Zhang Man, the vice dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and the 2nd Deputy Secretary General of the CAAI Professional Committee of Pattern Recognition. Professor Liu Chenglin, the Vice Director of CAAI and the Professor of the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences participated in the meeting; and Liu Mengyuan, a member of the CAAI Committee of Organizing delivered a speech via video link. 

After the personal application and the preliminary consideration by the leading group, as well as the approval from CAAI, there were 76 members campaigning for the executive members, 22 members for the standing members, 2 members for the director and 8 members for the vice director. Following the procedure, the new executive members and standing members were voted by the current members attending this meeting. After the speeches of the candidates of the Chairman and the Vice Chairmen, and with the vote from the new executive and standing members, Professor Zhou Jie at Tsinghua University was appointed as the new Chairman and 7 members including professor Shan Shiguang, the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as the Vice Chairmen. Professor Zhang Zhaoxiang, the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was appointed as the Secretary General.
