The 9th National Conference on Big Data and Social Computing (CAAI BDSC2024), sponsored by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and co-organized by the CAAI Special Committee on Social Computing and Social Intelligence (CAAI BDSC2024), was successfully held in the Qihang Activity Center of Harbin Engineering University on August 8-10, 2024, which is the theme of “Social Computing and Social Development in the Era of Big Models”. The theme of the conference was “Social Computing and Social Development in the Era of Big Models”.

The conference was grandly opened on August 9th. Prof. Zheng Li, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Harbin Engineering University, presided over the opening ceremony. Four experts were invited to give keynote speeches, and the Frontier Workshop on “Theories and Methods of Social Computing Empowered by Big Models” was successfully held on August 8, which attracted more than 100 teachers, students, and enterprise engineers from all over China to participate in the study and discussion.
