The National Popular Science Day coming, on August 24th, 2024, CAAI Intelligent Party Building Forum -- Forum on AI Industry-Academia Integrated Innovation was successfully held in Xi’an under the guidance from the China Association for Science and Technology. On the opening ceremony, Sun Fuchun, CAAI Vice President and Professor of Tsinghua University, introduced “CAAI-Lenovo Blue Sky Research Foundation” in detail. The foundation aimed to support young scholars from universities and scientific research institutions in China in scientific research, further promoting the coordinated development among industry, academia and research.

AI is one of two technology focuses of Lenovo. CAAI is the only association at the national level in the intelligent science and technology. The foundation built by two parties includes three directions: large models and agents, spatial intelligence and embodied intelligence. The foundation project includes science exploration and technology application. The first one provides 100,000 each year, encouraging scholars to explore frontier technologies with academic exchange and research report as the main achievements. The second one provides 300,000 each year, aiming to solve technological challenges in the industry through innovation and promote the application of achievements. The project guidance of the foundation will be officially issued in September.
