On August 3, 2024, the 9th Working Conference of the Natural Language Understanding Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) was held in Xi’an. A total of 59 members and representatives from universities, research institutes and enterprises all over the country attended the meeting. Mr. Su Jinsong, member of the CAAI Organizing Committee, presided over the meeting on behalf of CAAI and supervised the transition process.

At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Su Jinsong introduced the participating members and representatives, and Professor Wang Xiaojie, Chairman of the eighth session of the Special Committee, made a summary report on the work content of the past five years, and unanimously adopted the work report of the special Committee after discussion.

After the attendance of the conference and the online committee voting, the leadership list of the 9th Committee of the CAAI Natural Language Understanding Committee was produced: Professor Sun Xiao as the chairman, Professor Yu Hao, Professor Qiu Xipeng, Professor Li Lei, Professor Xu Ruifeng, Associate Professor Shi Shumin as the deputy chairman, and Associate Professor Yuan Caixia as the Secretary-General. Nominated by the Secretary General of the Special Committee, Associate Professor Yuan Caixia, and voted by the members present and online, Teacher Deng Jiawen, Teacher Gao Yingming and Teacher Feng Weijie were appointed deputy secretaries.
