On June 2, 2024, the academic symposium on "Artificial Intelligence and Future Education: Educational Transformation Based on AIGC" was held at the Guilin Road Campus Conference Center of Shanghai Normal University. The event was hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and jointly organized by the CAAI Intelligent Education Technology Committee, Shanghai Normal University, and the Ministry of Education's Educational Big Data and Decision-Making Laboratory, with support from East China Normal University Press. Over 230 participants from more than 80 institutions attended, including representatives from Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, Central China Normal University, Capital Normal University, Shanghai Teacher Education College, Shanghai Youth Activity Center, and the Shanghai Baoshan District Education Bureau.

The symposium aimed to explore the impact of generative artificial intelligence on future teaching and educational models, the development trends of new AI technology applications in education, and particularly the educational innovations and challenges posed by current AI-generated content (AIGC). Experts and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on how to leverage AIGC technology to drive educational innovation and high-quality development. They expressed hope that this symposium would serve as an opportunity to advance interdisciplinary and cross-field collaboration, jointly promoting the digital transformation of education and contributing to the innovative development and quality enhancement of education.
