Recently, CAAI completed the " survey on the situation of artificial intelligence and programming enlightenment among young children in China" and released the survey report.
Targeting students from grades one to six across the country, as well as parents and information technology teachers, this survey designed a detailed questionnaire on the primary stage of artificial intelligence and programming enlightenment education , and finally collected more than 6,000 questionnaires, of which effective feedback accounted for 60%.
The report concludes that children should have five competencies and five abilities to better cope with the changes and challenges of the times. Family education also plays an important role in AI enlightenment education.

More than half of the surveyed children have not started programming courses. Most of the respondents whose children have learned programming courses reported that their children's first access to programming courses was online off-campus training institutions or offline off-campus training institutions. Specifically, 52% of the children have not started programming courses, 36% of the children's first exposure to programming courses is online or offline off-campus training institutions, 10% of the children's first exposure to programming courses is in school. Additionally, 1% of the surveyed children first encounteredprogramming through family education, and another 1% were introduced to programming through self-study.
