The “Sun Yat-sen University Precision Medicine Big Data Analytics Community Development and Innovation Competition” was held on April 14-25, 2023 at the North Campus of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou . It was sponsored by CAAI and hosted by CAAI professional committee of bioinformatics and artificial life, Sun Yat-sen University Zhongshan School of Medicine and Guangdong Bioinformatics Society.

The main activities included the skills training on the bioinformation community platform and creation and selection of innovative works. The competition was entitled Bioinformatics Tools and Workflow Bioinformatics. The competition set one first prize, two second prizes, and five third prizes.

On April 14, 2023, the competition began to publicize the entry guide and offer courses for better use of the community platform. Then the contestants created works on the community platform and submitted their works on April 19. From April 20th to 23rd, internet scoring and expert scoring were conducted. On April 25th, the award ceremony and the demonstration of works were held.

Chen Jingyu from Sun Yat-sen University won the first prize, Qian Yongtao and Cai Wenhao won the second prize and five contestants won the third prizes.

Highlights

Professor Li Weizhong and community platform engineers were training students to use the platform.
