Empowering New Energy Industry Through Intelligent Manufacturing

On December 9, 2021, the "2021 World Smart Manufacturing Conference--- Forum on Empowering the High-quality Development of New Energy Industry Through Intelligent Manufacturing " organized by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, International Coalition of Intelligent Manufacturing,  Intelligent Manufacturing Association Coalition of CAST, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, IEEE PES Smart Grid and New Technology Committee (China) was successfully held in Nanjing. This forum invited a number of experts, scholars and industry elites in the field of smart energy at home and abroad as guests of the report, with a total of nearly 400,000 online viewers.

The theme of the forum was “Dual Carbon and Energy Development”. Professor Yue Dong, Deputy Secretary-General of CAAI served as the moderator. Academician Zhang Qin of the International Academy of Nuclear Energy, Academician Han Qinglong of the European Academy of Sciences, Professor GERHARDUS P.HANCKE of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Professor Ling Xiang of Nanjing University of Technology and researcher Luo Jianbo, chief expert of Nanjing Nanrui Group Co., Ltd. were invited as special guests to give keynote speeches respectively. Five authoritative academic reports focused on the academic frontiers of smart manufacturing in the energy field, and discussed the innovation direction and development path of smart manufacturing to empower the new energy industry.

Academician Zhang Qin gave an on-site report on the subject of “Application of Dynamic Uncertain Cause and Effect Diagram in Nuclear Power Fault Diagnosis”. His report mainly introduces the related situations of intelligent fault diagnosis and dynamic uncertainty cause and effect diagram theory for smart nuclear power plants, and demonstrates the fault diagnosis of the generators of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant. At the same time, the theory of DUCG is applied to many fields such as power grid fault analysis.

Academician Han Qinglong made a video report on “Energy Informatics: State-Of-The-Art Topics and Future Development”.He said thatat the background of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, China’s and the world's power grids are undergoing tremendous changes, showing the characteristics of distributed and extensive access and two-way energy flow. Micro-grid can effectively complement the large-scale power grid and meet the operating requirements of the system through effective control methods.

Professor GERHARDUS P. HANCKE made a video report on "IoT-based Smart Manufacturing: A Future for Energy Sustainability". The intelligent manufacturing system architecture based on the Internet of Things and data is introduced. Through the control of the microgrid based on the Internet of Things, the deep integration of intelligent manufacturing and microgrid operation is realized.

Professor Ling Xiang gave a video report on "Key Technology of Mobile Energy Storage Internet for Low-grade Waste Heat Utilization". It mainly introduces how to efficiently utilize the industrial waste heat from two aspects: the principle and key core technologies of the development of mobile energy storage Internet.

Researcher Luo Jianbo brought a live report with the theme "Innovation is the inevitable choice of  building a new power system ". It mainly elaborated on the development trend of the power system, the connotation of new energy as the main body of the new power system, and the theoretical guidance and path method of innovatively constructing the new power system.

Forum on Empowering the High-quality Development of New Energy Industry Through Intelligent Manufacturing as one of the sub-forums of the 2021 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference. The conference focuses on "dual carbon and new energy", aiming to promote the energy revolution and green ecology under the "dual carbon" goal, and promote the academic prosperity and application promotion of our country's smart energy field. The conference tried to accelerate industrial transformation and reform through technology dissemination, and build a diversified and open international communication environment, jointly create a vane for smart manufacturing to empower the new energy industry and help form a closed loop of production, education and research.
