August 9-11, jointly sponsored by CAAI and China Computer Society, CAAI Particle Computing and Knowledge Discovery Committee and China Computer Society Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition Committee, International Rough Set Society Supported by the Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Jiangsu Institute of Technology, and Nanjing University, the 2019 China Granular Computing and Knowledge Discovery Conference (CGCKD 2019) was successfully held in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu.

       This academic conference mainly focused on rough set theory, granular computing theory and three decision-making theories for in-depth exchange and discussion. With the annual expansion of the annual meeting and the continuous improvement of influence, this session has attracted more than 500 experts and scholars from all over the country engaged in relevant theoretical and applied research. A total of 209 academic papers were collected at the conference. After strict examination, the conference finally accepted 139 papers. The papers were recommended for publication in 17 journals at home and abroad.

       Grouped academic reports are concentrated in the form of special topics, including: rough set theory and application, low quality big data, machine learning and data mining, three decision making, granular computing, cognitive learning and conceptual analysis, artificial intelligence applications. A total of 9 outstanding student papers were selected and presented at the closing ceremony. The winners of outstanding student papers were commended and rewarded. The winners of the nine outstanding papers (first author) are Gao Yuan (Jiangsu University of Science and Technology), Liu Jiubing (Nanjing University), Yang Qian (Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications), Chang Fanfan (Chang'an University), Li Yue (Taiyuan University of Technology) ), Mana (Kunming University of Science and Technology), Wang Ziwei (Tongji University), Li Teng (Central South University of Forestry and Technology), Feng Chenjiao (Shanxi University).

       The successful success of the CGCKD2019 conference promoted academic exchanges and opened up new directions for the vigorous development of artificial intelligence in China. The proportion of young scholars and graduate students participating in the conference reached a record high. It can be seen that the new generation of China is constantly striving to make contributions to the development of artificial intelligence in China. I sincerely wish that the influence of the China Conference on Granular Computing and Knowledge Discovery will become more and more profound, and promote China to continue to innovate in the field of artificial intelligence and lead the world technological revolution.

       In addition, on the evening of August 9, the annual work meeting held by the Special Committee for Grain Computing and Knowledge Discovery, the director of the special committee, Professor Miao Duanqian, made an annual work report on behalf of the special committee, and put forward clear requirements for future work. This year, the CAAI was reorganized and other related work was arranged. The new members and the next contractor were voted. The voting result was 22 new members this year. The 2020 CGCKD academic conference was hosted by Shanxi University.
