Notice on the Candidate Recommendation of the 14th China Young Women Scientist Award and the 2017 Future Female Scientist Project

In order to encourage women workers in science and technology field to actively participate in innovation and make contribution to the development of the world's scientific and technological power with great enthusiasm, and to honor the party's 19th National Congress with their excellent results, the All-China Women's Federation, The China Association for Science and Technology, the China National Commission for UNESCO, and L'Oreal (China) Co., Ltd. decided to co-host the 14th China Young Women Scientist Awards and implement the 2017 Future Women Scientists Program. And the candidate recommendation work will be carried out by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:
I. The 14th China Young Women Scientist Awards
(I) Scope and Requirements
1. The candidates must support the party's route, principles, and policies with ideological and political steadfastness, keep the patriotic sense in mind, be honest and clean, obey the law, have good academic morals, and abide by scientific ethics;
2. The candidates are supposed to score major discoveries and achievements in the field of basic science or life sciences;
3. Chinese female science and technology workers who are no more than 45 years old (born on or after July 1, 1972);
The selection scope does not include engineering technology and confidentiality.

II. The 2017 Future Female Scientist Project
(I) Scope and Requirements
1. The candidates are supposed to be patriotic, legally committed, honest and trustworthy. They should respect the teacher and the teaching activity, have good study and moral character, study diligently, and show strong scientific research ability and development potential;
2. Scientists engaged in the field of basic science or life sciences, where research projects involving animals (such as experimental vertebrates) and cosmetics research are not included;
3. Female PhD students or postdoctoral students born in China who are not over 35 years of age (born on or after July 1, 1982);
4. The candidates are supposed to have a research project to be funded by the program, and the duration of the research after the grant is no less than 12 months.
(II) Number of Candidates and Capital Support
One person, with 20,000 yuan of subsidy. One of the candidates is recommended to participate in the "World's Most Promising Female Scientists" project selection; selected candidate who meets the conditions for the application of the Chinese Talent Association's Young Talents Project is recommended to the project.
III. Requirements of the Recommended Work
(I) Each referee must clearly participate in the China Young Women Scientist Award or the Future Female Scientist Program and may not participate in two projects at the same.

(II) The recommended work must adhere to the principle of “openness, fairness, fairness, and merit-based”, broaden the channels of recommendation, and take the conditions for selection seriously to ensure the quality of the selection.
(III) The recommended candidates for the China Young Women Scientist Awards should be inclined to the outstanding young female science and technology workers who have long been working in the front line of scientific research and production and in underdeveloped areas in the west. The contribution of the referee must be mainly made in China and he or she should be the main accomplishers or the main contributor; Attention should be paid to the achievements and scientific research potential of the research work that has been undertaken so far, and pay more attention to the innovation of the proposed project.
(IV) The candidate's recommendation materials are the main basis for the review and evaluation, which should be concise and focused. Non-academic newspapers, publications, and online reports shall not be used as supporting materials. Non-academic (part-time) and non-technical awards shall not be filled in the relevant columns of the recommendation form. The electronic version of the material must be consistent with the corresponding paper version.
(V) The recommended units and candidates should consciously abide by scientific ethics and academic norms. The recommended materials should be objective, accurate and complete. For those who have falsely reported the materials and have other academic misconducts, they will be seen as disqualified according to the procedures. Cancellation of awards and funding is recorded and documented. If the candidate is complained, the recommended unit and the unit where the candidate is located shall conduct an investigation and verification and provide written investigation materials and concluding comments.
(VI) The candidate's recommended materials shall not involve state secrets, and the unit where the candidate is located shall issue a certificate of confidentiality examination. If the material violates the confidentiality regulations, the recommended qualification will be cancelled.
IV. Requirements of Submitted Material
Materials about the candidates.
Materials submitted include electronic materials and written materials.
(I) Electronic Material
Electronic materials are submitted through the China Young Women Scientist Awards Recommendation and Evaluation Management System (http://qnnkxjj.cast.org.cn). Candidates use the "candidate registration password" to register and log in to the network to fill in the report, and pay attention to selecting the category to be recommended. "Recommended unit user name, password, candidate registration password" will be sent separately. Please complete the network report before July 31, 2017.
(II) Written materials of Chinese Young Female Scientist Award’s Candidates
(1) 5 copies of the "14th China Youth Female Scientist Award Candidate Recommendation Form", including 1 original and 4 copies. Please do not attach a cover. After submitting the electronic materials successfully, continue to use the system to print the "Recommended Form" by using the China Young Women Scientists Award recommendation and review management system.
(2) 1 set of accessory materials, including representative papers (no more than 3 articles), catalogue of major scientific and technological achievements, and related certification materials such as citation, technical appraisal, intellectual property, technology application, and awards. Monographs (not more than 1) can be attached.
(3) The certificate of confidentiality examination issued by the candidate's unit.
(III) Written Materials of Future female scientist Plan’s Candidate
(1) 5 copies of the "2017 Future Female Scientists Program Candidate Recommendation Form", including 1 original and 4 copies without a cover. After submitting the electronic materials successfully using the China Young Women Scientists Award recommendation and review management system, continue to use the system to print the "Recommended Form".
(2) Doctoral candidates are requested to provide the certificate of attendance issued by the graduate school, indicating the major and the time of graduation; postdoctoral candidates should provide a doctoral degree doctoral certificate and work agreement.
(3) A certificate of confidentiality examination issued by the candidate's unit (school).
