On January 20, 2018, the eleventh standing council meeting of the seventh council of CAAI was held in Beijing. The members of the standing council including its president, vice-president and secretary-general attended the meeting. With 48 of its 57 members attended, exceeding its quorum of 2/3 of the total, its procedure was valid.

Academician LI Deyi, President of CAAI, made important speeches and summaries at the meeting: 1. Strengthen the construction of think tanks; 2. Do a good job in the Forum of Deans  (including department directors); 3. Elaborate lectures of artificial intelligence; 4. Improve the performance of professional committees and set development goals; 5. Strengthen self-construction and take on its responsibility of the times.

Professor YANG Fangchun, Standing Vice President of CAAI, and Academician TAN Tieniu, Vice President of CAAI, presided over the meeting successively.

Researcher WANG Weining, Secretary-General of CAAI, made a summary report on the work of CAAI in 2017, introduced the work in 2017 and introduced the key work of in 2018. Professor WANG Guoxu, Vice President of CAAI, Professor LIU Hong and Professor MA Shaoping reported on the relevant deliberations of CAAI. At the same time, the representatives of its branches have also engaged in exchanges and discussions. 

The Standing Council Members deliberated and adopted the Management Measures of the Professional Committee of CAAI (Revised Draft), the Management Measures of the Working Committee of CAAI (Revised Draft), and WU Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award Regulations (Revised Draft). PAN Gang, chairman of the Special Committee of Brain-Machine Intelligence and Bio-Machine Intelligence of CAAI, was appointed as the director and standing director. The "Professional Committee of Rough Sets and Soft Computing" was renamed "Professional Committee of Granular Computing and Knowledge Discovery".

Academician LI Deyi issued certificates for the first batch of CAAI fellow and 2017 excellent representatives of the Professional Committees.

All the standing directors attended the meeting conducted in-depth discussions on the key work in 2018. The atmosphere was lively throughout the discussion and valuable suggestions were made for the development of CAAI.
