On October 13, the 14th CISC’2018 was successfully held at Pullman Hotel, Wenzhou, a city in China with beautiful landscape. Hosted by CAAI, co-organized by the Intelligent Air and Space System Professional Committee in CAAI and co-hosted by Wenzhou University and Beihang University. 

This conference with a theme of Artificial Intelligence and Smart System had almost 300 experts, professors and postgraduates from more than 70 distinguished universities and research institutes at home and abroad. 

Professor Wang Pengjun, Dean of the School of Mathematical and Electronic Information Engineering, Wenzhou University hosted the opening ceremony at 8:30 in the morning and professor Xuewei, Vice President of Wenzhou University delivered a speech to welcome all the attendants.

Wu Hongxin，academician of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Sun Zengqi, professor of Tsinghua University, former Vice Chairman of CAAI, and Jia Yingmin, Chairman of the conference, Director of the Intelligent Aerospace System Professional Committee of CAAI, Professor of Beihang University delivered speeches respectively and warmly congratulated the success of 14th CISC’2018 and expressing their warmest welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the experts, scholars and representatives who attended the conference during the busy schedule.

The conference invited seven academicians, Outstanding Youths, Changjiang Scholars, IEEE Fellow and other famous experts who have been working in the field of intelligent systems for a long time. Sun Youxian, former deputy director of Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress, director of Chinese Association of Automation and academician of Zhejiang University gave a report on the theme of “Large-scale Blast Furnace Intelligence System”, and introduced how to apply artificial intelligence theory to realize intelligent optimization control under multi-operation mode of large blast furnace, which will deliver great social and economic benefits.

Hu Changhua, the Outstanding Youth of Rocket Force University of Engineering, changjiang Scholar, and Major General gave a report titled “Data Driven Equipment Life Prediction mTechnology”, which introduced the life prediction technology based on mechanism analysis, regression analysis, empirical knowledge, failure data statistics and degraded data statistics and the challenges faced by the technology.

Professor Zeng Zhigang, Dean of the School of Automation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Outstanding Youth, and Changjiang Scholar, gave a report on the topic "Research and Design of Neuromorphic Systems Based on Memristive Resistance", and introduced the research on the algorithm and function direction of neuromorphology based on memristive resistance and the progresses they have made in this field.

Huang Panfeng, Professor of the School of Aerospace, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Outstanding Youth, Ten Thousand Planner, gave a report on the topic “Research and Application of Key Technologies for Intelligent Space Robots”, which sorted out the difficult problems and development trends of space robots and made brave predictions on the applications of robotics in orbit services, manned spaceflight engineering and deep space exploration.

Professor Zhang Tianping from the School of Information Engineering of Yangzhou University gave a report on the topic of “Robust Adaptive Control for Nonlinear Systems with Multiple Uncertainties”, explaining from the aspects of classification of nonlinear systems, the main forms of system uncertainty, and common nonlinear systems, and discussing adaptive dynamic surface design, stability analysis and application problems.

The deputy dean of the School of Automation, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Professor Jie Qing and Professor Chen Mou gave a report on the theme of "Therapeutic Theory and Application of Large Maneuvering UAVs", focusing on large-capacity and multi-task flight control of large maneuvering drones. Three aspects of their research fruits including the large-volume drone line adaptive control, multi-approach cooperative control, and robust restricted control were introduced in turn.

Professor of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, IEEE fellow JuJang Lee gave a report entitled "The Development of Future Intelligent Robot Systems", which introduced the development and application of four kinds of robots —"Silver Robot", "Space and Military Robot", "Ubiquitous Robot" and "Genetic Robot".

Five group reports were arranged by the conference to conduct paper reading and discussions on multi-agent systems, distributed control, advanced intelligent algorithms, and navigation guidance and control.

 At 7 pm, the closing ceremony of the conference was co-chaired by Dr. Li Hongbo from Tsinghua University and Professor Wang Chaoli from Shanghai University of Technology. Professor Lin Juanjuan, secretary of the Party Committee of Wenzhou University, made a closing speech. Professor Jia Yingmin and Professor Fu Yongling from Beihang University and Professor Du Junping from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications delivered their speeches in turn. All of them thought that the conference was very successful with its high academic level, considerate service, thought-provoking ideas, and great gains and it exceeded the previous conferences, representing the highest level of smart systems in China.

Subsequently, Professor Liu Zhongxin of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Nankai University and Associate Professor Li Rui of the University of Electronic Science and Technology respectively spoke on behalf of the new and old participants of the China Intelligent Systems Conference, and expressed their feelings and gains in attending the conference and expectations for a better tomorrow. Professor Sun Qinglin from Artificial Intelligence Institute of Nankan University, Professor Wang Fuzhong from Henan University of Science and Technology, Professor Liu Hengzhu from National University of Defense Technology, Professor Wang Guoli from Zhongshan University, Professor Zhou Wuneng from Donghua University, Professor Ren Xuemei from Beijing Institute of Technology, Professor Li Xiaobin from Shanghai University of Applied Sciences, Professor Xu Zhengguang from Beijing University of Science and Technology  and Professor Liu Qing from Wuhan University of Technology, on behalf of the organizing committee, presented certificates to the authors of the nine outstanding papers presented by the organizing committee and took a group photo.

  Finally, Professor Hu Zhongyi, the secretary-general and the organizer of the conference and director of the Institute of Intelligent Information Systems of Wenzhou University, vividly summed up the important landmark events from the preparation of the conference to the convening of the conference, and expressed most sincere thanks to the units and individuals who contributed to the successful convening of the conference.

    On the morning of October 14, the delegates visited the Wenzhou Science and Technology Market. The staff gave a detailed introduction to Wenzhou's scientific and technological innovation work, the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements of various universities in Wenzhou, and the investment efficiency of Wenzhou Science and Technology.  The representatives present were actively invited to cooperate with Wenzhou enterprises.  Afterwards, the delegates visited Jiangxinyu, which is known as the “ beautiful land Penglai in Ou River”.

This meeting will definitely play a positive role in promoting the theoretical and applied research of China's intelligent systems.
