The only national-level society in China's intelligent science and technology field – Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence(CAAI) officially announced the 2018 CAAI’s co-opted list. Academician Chen Jie of Tongji University, Academician Dai Qionghai of Tsinghua University, Academician Wu Zhaohui of Zhejiang University, National Agriculture Academician Zhao Chunjiang, director of the Information Technology Engineering Research Center, and other outstanding technologists and AI industry leaders from AI fields won this award. This is also the first time for CAAI to enlist its members after the first 53 members joined CAAI IN 2017, including the 22 academicians.

As the highest academic honorfor a member in Society, the academician of CAAI is selected by the principles of fairness, impartiality, and openness, and learns the outstanding achievements of the members in the field of artificial intelligence, scientific research, industrial promotion, and the society. Outstanding contributions are the yardstick, and the number of candidates for the annual election is no more than 10.

After more than 60 years of development, artificial intelligence has become one of the strategic technologies to lead the future, which is related to the overall strategic layout of the country and the future prosperity. The release of "New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan" in 2017 will raise artificial intelligence to the national strategy, and strive to make China's artificial intelligence theory, technology and application reach the world's leading level by 2030, and become the world's leading artificial intelligence innovation center. The scale of the intelligent core industry exceeds 1 trillion yuan.

   The realization of China's artificial intelligence strategic goals is inseparable from the outstanding contributions and support of outstanding science and technology workers and industry leaders. CAAI has effectively responded to the call of the Party Central Committee and the State Council. Through the normalization of the selection of academician qualifications, the members of the Society are encouraged to continuously climb the peak of science and technology, promote the scientific research and technology development in the field of artificial intelligence in China, and stabilize the artificial intelligence strategy in China. The rapid implementation has solidified the technical foundation. In addition, the participation of leading figures in the industry has greatly promoted the development of the intelligent industry and the artificial intelligence to empower the real economy, which will help accelerate the process of industrial intelligent upgrading.

   With the rise of the artificial intelligence wave, the Chinese Artificial Intelligence Society has seized the opportunity of the times, tirelessly, pioneering and enterprising, helping China to step into the ranks of the world's technological powers as soon as possible, and will write a new chapter for China's artificial intelligence technology under the new situation.
