On the morning of November 16, 2018, the "Special Committee of Intelligent Detection and Motion Control Technology of Chinese Asociation for Artificial Intelligence" was held in 2018. The first director committee meeting was held at the School of Electrical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University (Deputy Secretary-General of the Special Committee). Professor Wu Xiaotong from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, deputy director Professor Lin Jinguo of Nanjing University of Technology, Professor Li Yunhua of Beihang University, Professor Qu Yanbin of Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai), Director Shu Zhibing of the Institute of Motion Control of Nanjing University of Technology, and Deputy Secretary-General Professor Shen Jiacong of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Southwest Vice President Zhao Ru of Jiaotong University and Professor Zhang Xinghua from the School of Automation of Nanjing University of Technology attended the meeting. Deputy Director Wang Yaonan was represented on behalf of Professor Yuan Xiaofang from Hunan University and Professor Zhang Aimin on behalf of Professor Ren Zhigang from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xie Mingpai from Singapore Nanyang Institute of Technology, and Dean Chen Weirong and Secretary of the College of Electrical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University attended the meeting.

The meeting was first delivered by Professor Chen Weirong, Dean of School of Electrical Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University, and briefly introduced the general situation of the college. Next, the participants discussed in depth the following main topics:

Study and implement the document spirit of CAAI

Report on the 2018 annual work of the special committee on intelligent detection and motion control technology of CAAI

Discuss the related issues of the second "soft silver cup China robot skills competition"

To discuss the joint organization of international or domestic academic conferences and related issues

Discuss the source and use of the institute's funds and the key work in 2019

Discuss other activities or work proposed by the chairmen and vice-chairmen

Some participants participated in the 5th plenary meeting of the 7th council of CAAI held in Chengdu Longzhimeng Hotel (no. 8, Jialing jiang road, Chenghua district, Chengdu city, Sichuan province) and participated in the BBS of the 8th China intelligent industry summit in 2018.
