The Zhaoqing High-Tech Zone “DaWang Cup” 20th National Robot Championships and the 9th International Humanoid Robot Olympic Games, hosted by Chinese Association For Artificial Intelligence and the Management Committee of Zhaoqing High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, undertaken by Guangzhou Yati Club, will be held on August 21st-26th , 2018 in Culture and Sports Center of High-Tech Industrial Development Zone of Zhaoqing, Guangdong.

Chinanews.com, Guangzhou, June 15th (Reported by Tang Guijiang) The news conference for Zhaoqing High-Tech Zone “DaWang Cup” 20th National Robot Championship and the 9th International Humanoid Robot Olympic Games will be held on June 15th in Guangzhou News Center. It is reported that in 2018, the 20th National Robotics Championship comes Zhaoqing High-tech Zone for the first time, and will be held in Culture and Sports Center of Zhaoqing High-tech Zone from August 21st to 26th. The holding of high-level robot events and the arrival of top robot teams will help the “smart” manufacturing industry to flourish.

Hong Bingrong, Executive Chairman of the Games and Vice President of FIRA; Huang Hong, the tournament referee and Professor of Beijing Institute of Technology; Guan Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Zhaoqing High-tech Zone; Luo Hongyan, Chairman of Guangzhou Yati Club; Mo Xiuquan, Vice President of Guangdong Entrepreneur Council; Ding Xiaopeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong Vocational College of Industry and Commerce, and other leaders and guests attended the news conference.
The National Robotics Championship is hosted by CAAI and Zhaoqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, undertaken by Guangzhou Yati Club, and directed by Federation of International Robot-soccer Association (FIRA). The event was founded in 1999 and has been held for 19 times till now in different cities such as Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Harbin. Professor Hong Bingrong, the father of Chinese robot soccer, has served as the executive chairman of previous events. The event has made a great contribution to the cultivation of innovative talents and the development of core robotic technology in China. The contest is one of the most influential robots events at home and abroad, with the strongest lineup and the largest scale.

It is reported that in 2018, the 20th National Robot Championships will be fully upgraded. There are 47 competition events in the six categories. The first major category includes the competition events focusing on "wheeled mobile robots", which is of great significance to the development of unmanned driving and the research of unmanned tanks. The second one is for the competitions focusing on humanoid robots. It is of great significance to the aspects such as the development of home service robots. The third category is for "airborne robots". The fourth one focuses on "underwater robots". The fifth are "service robots" and the last one is for "Aelos robots".
This year's event attracted nearly 400 people from more than 100 colleges and universities from home and abroad to participate in. At the same time, it also invited domestic first-class high-tech enterprises to participate in the exhibition, communicate on new technologies and achieve negotiations on the research results. The team that stands out from the competition will also have the opportunity to represent China to participate in the 2018 FIRA World Cup.
