According to the Notice of the National Science and Technology Award Work Office on the Nomination of the National Science and Technology Award in 2019 (No. 41 of the National Science Award, hereinafter referred to as the Notice) and the Notice of the General Office of the Chinese Association of Science and Technology on the Nomination of the National Science and Technology Award in 2019 (the letter of the Association of Science and Technology [2018] No. 269), CAAI is going to launch the 2019 National Science and Technology Award. Nominations for science and technology awards are hereby notified as follows:

I. Nomination Awards and Quotas

(Ⅰ) Nomination Awards

Nomination awards including the National Supreme Science and Technology Award, the National Natural Science Award, the National Technology Invention Award and the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People's Republic of China.

(Ⅱ) Nominations Quotas

There are two candidates for the National Science and Technology Award in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

II. Nomination Requirements

In addition to meeting the requirements of the Notice, the candidates for nomination should also meet the following requirements:

1. Nominating candidates must have won the first prize or above of the CAAI or provincial and ministerial award (science projects are not subject to this restriction).

2. The main person of the nominated candidates/projects should be member of CAAI

Ⅲ. Nominations and Material Requirements

(Ⅰ) Nomination materials should include:

1. One submission. It should have the signature of the mainly responsible person and affix the official seal of the institution. The contents should include: declaration of the award, prize awarded by CAAI or which are above the provincial or ministerial level for the project, and clarifying that the project meets the requirements of formal review, etc.

2. One commitment. It should be signed by the main person of the nominated project, including commitment of the collaboration of taking China Association for science and technology as the only channel for nomination, as well as commitment of illustrating the project meeting the requirements of nomination .

3. One non-confidential certificate of nomination materials. It should be provided by the main institution of the nominated project with an official seal on it.

4. Three sets of paper nominations. One set of the original which should be marked in the upper right corner, and two sets of photocopies. The main parts and accessories of the nomination should be bound together, not wrapped.

(Ⅱ) The nomination file is the main basis for the evaluation. Please fill it in  accordance with the requirements of the Handbook for Nominations of the 2019 National Science and Technology Award. The content should be complete and authentic, the description should be accurate and objective, with emphasis on scientific discoveries, technological inventions or scientific and technological innovations. Once a project /candidate has been nominated, the important information such as the  main person of the project in the nomination document shall not be revised without permission. The Notice, the Nomination Letter and Work Manual are available for download on the website of the National Award Work Office (www.nosta.gov.cn).

(Ⅲ) After the selection by CAST, CAAI and CAST will publicize the project in the institution of all the project conductors. The publicity time shall not be less than seven days, we will be responsible for verifying and dealing with the objections. The publicity and results of the project shall be submitted to the CAAI in writing form after affixing the official seal of the institution.

IV. Time and Place for Submission of Nomination Materials

Please submit the paper and electronic versions of the nominated materials to the office of CAAI before 17:30 on December 14, 2018. Applications filed beyond the aforesaid time limit shall not be accepted.
