On December 14th and 15th, Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) held a project seminar and a Green Paper Seminar in Fuzhou, Fujian province. The theme of the project seminar is “Artificial Intelligence Discipline Orientation Prediction and Technology Roadmap” and the Industry Green Paper named New AI, New Driving Force, New Entity -- Research Report on the Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Real Economy in China. The core contents and quality standards of the two seminars were demonstrated and agreed by the members of the research group of the two projects and the experts specially invited in the related fields.
The roadmap project initiated by CAST in 2016 is a sub-project of the series of projects named Discipline Direction Prediction and Technology Roadmap, and is written by the CAAI. This project is based on the present, looking into the future, through research and insight into the development trend and rules of intelligent science and technology discipline, to catch artificial intelligence development trend and put forward the application direction of technology and industrial cooperation mechanism.
The technology roadmap seminar was hosted by Ma Shaoping, the professor of Tsinghua University and the vice chairman of CAAI. More than 20 people attended the seminar, including many experts and project team members, such as Prof. Yu Jian of Beijing Jiaotong University, Prof. Shi Zhongzhi of ICT, Prof. Han Liqun of Beijing Technology and Business University, Prof. Zhang Minling of Southeast University, Prof. Zhang Daoqiang of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Prof. He Qianfeng of Zhejiang University, Associate Professor Ji jianmin from university of science and technology of China and so on.

The green paper was initiated by CAAI and compiled by experts from all sectors. It focuses on the applicability of the integration of AI and the real economy. In addition to basic terminology and standards, technical bottleneck analysis and future prospects, the green paper also includes some high-value content like the practicality of some technologies in solving specific problems, realizing requirements and implementing business, such as the practicality of machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, robotics, human-computer interaction and brain-inspired intelligence technology. It can help AI enterprises to clarify the direction of technology research and development and application innovation, and also can help traditional enterprises faster access to specific strategies and methods of intelligent upgrading. At the same time, it will help academic and scientific research institutions to establish a systematic cognition between AI technology and its application, which is conducive to the breakthroughs in the applicability technology of artificial intelligence in China.
The green book seminar was hosted by professor Wang Chao from Shanghai university, and attended by professor Chen Wenbo from Beijing Information Science and Technology University, professor He Qianfeng from Zhejiang University, more than 20 members of the project team also attended the seminar. The project experts made a detailed report on the first draft of the green book, and experts including Ma Shaoping, Shi Zhongzhi, Han liqun, Gao Yang, Wang Wanliang, Wang xuan and Tang zhu put forward constructive suggestions on the content, which provided strong support for the next revision of the green book.
