The CAAI-Tencent Rhino-Bird Research Program AI Lab Special Initiative, jointly launched by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and Tencent, aims to build a strong industry-academia collaboration ecosystem to jointly tackle key core AI technologies and explore cutting-edge research directions.

This year, the initiative will open 26 research topics across nine frontier areas in multimodal large models and agent technologies. It will also feature open-ended topics to encourage and support exploratory research on next-generation intelligent paradigms. CAAI and Tencent have established an expert committee to provide full guidance for the program, along with industrial-grade experimental platforms, computing resources, data, and opportunities for principal investigators to visit Tencent for academic exchanges.

We cordially invite scholars from the academic community to join forces and explore the limitless possibilities of future AI technologies.

Principal investigators must be full-time scholars or researchers at universities or research institutions worldwide, and they must submit the application materials themselves.

The principal investigator and their team must have long-term research experience in areas aligned with the program - s supported directions.

Before submitting an application, the principal investigator must confirm that their home institution agrees to serve as the supporting organization and sign a research collaboration agreement.
