The CAAI-Lenovo Lantian Research Fund is a research funding initiative jointly established by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and Lenovo, aimed at young scholars from Chinese universities and research institutions. By building a platform for collaboration and exchange between industry and academia, the fund supports research and development in fundamental AI disciplines, promotes innovative applications of AI methods in scientific fields, cultivates AI talent, and facilitates university-industry collaboration as well as technology transfer.
On October 20, 2025, the CAAI issued a call for research proposals. This funding cycle focuses on two major technical directions: large language models and agents, and embodied AI. A total of 14 research topics have been released to support scientists in producing high-quality research outcomes, advancing the exploration and deployment of cutting-edge technologies in areas such as large language models and embodied AI. Each selected project will receive funding of RMB 100,000 to 300,000, with a project collaboration period of one year. Projects that achieve strong collaborative outcomes may apply for rolling support.
Following eligibility review, initial evaluation, and final assessment, a total of 12 projects have been selected this year. The selection list for the 2025 CAAI-Lenovo Lantian Research Fund is hereby announced (see attached table). The public notice period is three days, from January 6, 2026, to January 8, 2026.
Any individual or institution that has objections to the announced evaluation results must submit a signed complaint to the CAAI Office before 24:00 on January 8, 2026. Anonymous complaints will not be accepted.
