The CAAI-MindSpore Academic Fund is a fund jointly established by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), Peng Cheng Laboratory, and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. It aims to build an academic exchange platform for AI scholars from universities and corporate research institutes worldwide, providing funding, computing power, and technical support services to promote innovative applications of artificial intelligence methods in scientific fields.

The fund will support applicants in conducting scientific research based on China's domestic artificial intelligence ecosystem through the abundant computing resources of China Computing NET provided by Peng Cheng Laboratory. The OpenI open-source community (https://openi.org.cn/) of China Computing NET (C2NET) will offer a comprehensive and stable online collaborative development environment for this project, providing researchers with a full-process artificial intelligence open-source development experience based on China Computing NET's resource infrastructure.

The fund will focus on building native ecosystem advantages in large models and scientific AI, establishing the native technological strengths of Ascend and MindSpore. It aims to promote in-depth industry collaboration in cutting-edge technology exploration and practice, support participating teams in publishing academic papers in top conferences or journals based on Ascend and MindSpore, incubate original theories and innovative achievements, and continuously build an open, native ecosystem for research and talent development.
