On February 2, 2024, the kickoff meeting for CAAI - MindSpore Academic Fund and CANN Academic Fund was successfully held online. Sixty-two experts and professors from CAAI, Pengcheng Laboratory (PCL), Huawei Technologies, Ltd., universities, and research institutes attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Professor Dai Qionghai, Chairman of CAAI and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Gao Wen, director of the PCL and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering delivered speeches. In addition, Associate Professor Fang Lu from the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, and Recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, chaired the event and reported on the implementation plan of the projects.

CAAI - MindSpore Academic Fund and CANN Academic Fund are jointly initiated by CAAI and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. to build an academic exchange platform for AI researchers in universities and research institutes, and provide resources such as funding, computing power, technical support, etc. It aims to promote the application of MindSpore and CANN in the field of AI research, and support the publication of academic papers in high-level international and domestic conferences and journals based on the MindSpore AI framework. It also encourages the development of original scientific research, and enhances the global influence of China's artificial intelligence research.
