On June 27th, co-hosted by Service Center for Societies of CAST and Beijing Association for Science and Technology, a CAAI seminar for synergy, empowerment, and exchanges was successfully held. The two associations also held a symposium on “synergy and empowerment for the building of Beijing International Center for Science and Technology Innovation”.

The seminar aimed to carry out in-depth education with the topic of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; summarize the sci-tech communities’ practical experience of innovation and development; explore the development path of sci-tech communities for a new era; and promote China’ societies and Beijing’s municipal societies to better pool resources for the building of Beijing International Center for Science and Technology Innovation.

Academician Dai Qionghai introduced the current status of research and development in the field of AI in China, and the existing shortcomings. He also pointed out that innovation from scratch is Beijing’s responsibility itself. Furthermore, he suggested deepening AI talents training and basic research by improving the policy mechanism and increasing input; another advice was to strengthen original innovation, so as to build a Beijing unified computing power platform.
