From June 18th to 20th, the Bioinformatics and Intelligent Information Processing Conference 2023 (BIIP2023) held in Jinan was a great success. This year’s conference was hosted by CAAI; and sponsored by the CAAI Professional Committee of Bioinformatics and Artificial Life, School of Control Science and Engineering, Shandong University; and co-hosted by the Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and the Smart Medical Engineering Research Center, Shandong University. The meeting aims to implement the Healthy China Action Plan (2019-2030), seize the strategic opportunity of AI development, and to realize the digital transformation in the field of medical care, so as to promote the rapid development of China's biomedical industry. 

The meeting gathered hundreds of experts and scholars, including Professor Yingjin Yuan at Tianjin University, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Fan Yi, vice-president of Shandong University, and Professor Maosong Sun, executive vice president of Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Tsinghua University. They discussed the various chances, challenges, and growth directions of the application of new AI technologies for boosting biomedicine-related researches.
