In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Central Talent Work Conference and promote the transformation and deepening of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in the scientific and technological circles. According to the “Opinions on Further Promoting the Spirit of Scientists and Strengthening the Construction of Style and Study Style” issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council, the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence is now carrying out the recommendation work of “Scientists’ Spiritual Education Base” in the field of artificial intelligence. The specific notice is as follows:

Total Requirements

The construction and service management of the scientist’s spiritual education base aims to promote the standardization of the naming of the scientist’s spiritual education base at the national level, and fully explore and utilize the resources of the scientist’s spiritual education,  encourage social forces to actively participate in the promotion of the scientist’s spirit, promote vigorously the spirit of scientists with patriotism, innovation, truth-seeking, dedication, collaboration, and education as the core, and form a strong atmosphere in the whole society that respects knowledge, advocates innovation, respects talents, loves science, and devotes to science.

Activity Planning

1. Widespread mobilization. All units should mobilize at different levels, actively mobilize qualified institutions and units in the field of artificial intelligence to actively participate in the declaration of scientists’ spiritual education base, and deeply dig out the characteristic practices, typical experiences and advanced deeds of publicizing and carrying out the work of promoting the spirit of scientists.

2. Organization recommendation. Each branch, provincial artificial intelligence association, and members organize the application work in the field of artificial intelligence, and can recommend 1 scientist’s spiritual education base in the field of artificial intelligence. After being reviewed by experts, the association can recommend 2 to the China Association for Science and Technology.

3. Review and naming. At the end of April, the China Association for Science and Technology will organize an expert review. It will be announced to the public in early May. Certificates and licenses will be issued in late May.

4. Promotional display. Starting in late May, the Association will organize the selected scientists’ spiritual education bases in conjunction with the National Science and Technology Workers Day, and carry out extensive learning and education activities to promote scientists’ spiritual characteristics for scientific and technological workers, the public, especially young people. The activities should tell the stories of scientists well, carry forward the spirit of scientists, and guide the vast number of scientific and technological workers and young people to continuously absorb spiritual nourishment from outstanding scientists.

Requirements

Carrying out the construction and service management of scientists’ spiritual education bases is an important work to implement the “Opinions on Further Promoting the Scientists’ Spirit and Strengthening the Construction of Work Style and Study Style”, and it is the starting point for mobilizing social resources and making the scientists’ spiritual education work bigger and stronger. All units should fully understand the important significance of the work, give full play to their respective advantages, strengthen coordination, form a joint force, and organize the recommendation and naming work of spiritual education bases for scientists in this field.
