In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has been developing rapidly, and AI talent cultivation has become the top priority in the construction of AI ecology. As of last year, a total of 215 colleges and universities have added artificial intelligence majors, and 385 higher vocational colleges have successfully applied for artificial intelligence technology application majors.

The training of teachers is the first step to speed up talent cultivation. At the opening ceremony of this training activity, He Wen, senior engineer at PLA Academy of Military Science and deputy secretary-general of CAAI, said in her speech: “The ability of engineers in enterprises determines the state of the industry, while the level of teachers on campus will influence the future of the industry. Combining Theory and Practice, Exchanging Knowledge and Cases

This training included nearly 30 college leaders, professional construction leaders and front-line teachers from more than 20 colleges and universities in Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Beijing and Fujian provinces.

During the two-day training, Professor Chen Songcan, director of the CAAI Machine Learning Professional Committee, Professor Wu Dongrui of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Professor Gao Yang, Associate Director of the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the Nanjing University, gave lectures on machine learning. Professor Cui Zhen of the Nanjing University of Science and Technology and professor Gao Hao of the Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications offered courses in the direction of deep learning. Professor Zhu Qiang, deputy director of CAAI Human-Computer Fusion Intelligent Professional Committee, and associate professor Gao Changxin, from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, gave a lecture on computer vision. Over the years, the association has done a lot of work in personnel training, innovation of a variety of online and offline education modes. Set up AI front workshop, AI lecture hall, Cloud Class, Cloud Forum and other professional training and exchange activities; hold global AI technology competition, China “AI +”innovation and Entrepreneurship competition and a series of high-level competitions; The China Association for Science and Technology’s youth talent lift project and other projects have made a group of outstanding elites stand out and make progress in their careers.

At the same time, the association also launched professional teaching materials to assist teaching. In 2018, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology took the lead in organizing experts to compile “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence”; in 2019-2020, the “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence” was revised and matched with courseware and problem sets.

In March this year, the Chinese Society of Engineers was officially established, and the Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence, as one of the initiators, has made it an important work goal to serve the value of engineering talents.
