In order to promote the construction of artificial intelligence majors and disciplines in my country's universities, innovate the training model of high-end intelligent technology talents, and contribute strategic resources to my country's first-mover advantage in artificial intelligence development, on June 6, the 6th National University Artificial Intelligence College Dean/Department Dean Forum hosted by the CAAI was successfully held in Hangzhou. As one of the important events in the same period of the Global Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference, the National University Artificial Intelligence College Dean/Department Dean Forum has become a brand academic event in the field of artificial intelligence college education in my country, which is of great significance for leading the cultivation of innovative artificial intelligence talents.

Focusing on the new goals and challenges faced by artificial intelligence universities under the background of the intelligent age, the forum invited 16 university experts and business managers to share memoirs. At the same time, it brought together representatives from technology companies to discuss multi-disciplinary, integration of science and education, and integration of production and education.

Professor Lu Jiancheng, Dean of the School of Computer and Software of Sichuan University, shared The Practice of Artificial Intelligence Discipline Construction in the School of Computer Science (School of Software), Sichuan University. Professor Zeng Zhigang, Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, discussed Thoughts on the Construction of Artificial Intelligence Discipline. Professor Yang Xiaokang, Executive Deputy Dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Shanghai Jiaotong University, gave a report on Thinking and Practice of Artificial Intelligence Integration and Innovation. Director Zhu Wenwu of the Big Data Intelligence Center of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of Tsinghua University shared Thinking on the Construction and Development of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of Tsinghua University.

 

The Direction and Path of the Integration of Production and Education

As an engineering major, artificial intelligence has the characteristics of integration of production and education from the beginning of school education, requiring students not only to have solid theoretical knowledge and strong operational ability, but also to have an in-depth understanding of industry development status and industry demand trends.

 

As far as the industry is concerned, universities and enterprises have the most say in what kind of talents best meets market needs. At present, there are 345 universities who have set up artificial intelligence undergraduate majors, 190 universities have set up undergraduate majors in intelligence science and technology, and 171 higher vocational education institutions (colleges) have set up "artificial intelligence technology services" major. Universities, research institutes and enterprises have joined forces to keep true to their original aspirations and work hard in the artificial intelligence teaching materials, courses, training platforms and talent cultivating mechanisms , and contribute to the cultivation of high-quality artificial intelligence talents.
