On May 28, the 10th National Congress of the China Association for Science and Technology and the Congress of Two Academies’ Academicians were jointly convened, which was a grand meeting in the scientific and technological fields and the developmental history of Chinese Association for Science and Technology. It was also a new starting point for China Association for Science and Technology to base itself on the new development stage, implement the new development concept, serve the new development pattern as well as unite and guide the scientific and technological workers to strive for the all-round construction of a modern socialist country.
During the meeting, CCTV’s current affairs column interviewed Academician Zhong Nanshan, Dai Qionghai, Zhang Boli and other members of the conference, and launched a news video with the theme “This is the ‘star’ we should chase”.
“The General Secretary of China is particularly concerned about whether our scientists can make China’s contribution to the world and to the country,” said Academician Dai Qionghai, Chairman of CAAI, in an interview with CCTV. China’s education can produce masters, we must have this self-confidence!”
“I would never rely on foreign countries; the core thing is still on our own to create.”
“It is not easy to get stuck in the neck, it can only be turned into power.”
“This technology cannot be bought or begged.”
“We must march to the stars of the Solar System!”
“We hope to be young forever!”
The Academicians shouted loudly, demonstrated a firm belief in scientific research and a good spirit of scientists. Salute! Chinese scientists! The future of China’s scientific research could be expected!
