The 5th Hubei bioinformatics young scholars forum co sponsored by Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and Hubei Bioinformatics Society was held in Wuhan University from November 30 to December 2, 2019. The conference was organized by the computer school of Wuhan University, and co-organized by the school of computer of Wuhan University of science and Technology, the school of information of Huazhong Agricultural University, the school of computer science and engineering of Yulin Normal University, CAAI bioinformatics and artificial life committee, and the bioinformatics committee of China Computer Federation.

Professor Liu Juan of Wuhan University and Professor Zhang Wen of Huazhong Agricultural University organized the meeting. The conference was co chaired by Zhang Hongyu, Dean of the school of information, Huazhong Agricultural University, Liu Juan, Professor of the school of computer science, Wuhan University and Zhang Xiaolong, Professor of Wuhan University of science and technology.
Wang Jianxin, Professor of Central South University, Gao Lin, Professor of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and technology, and Huang Deshuang, Professor of Tongji University were invited to give keynote speeches. Professor Wang Jianxin reported the challenges and research progress of biomedical big data processing. Professor Gao Lin shared the achievements of three-dimensional genome map analysis. Professor Huang Deshuang introduced the work of using deep learning to analyze DNA sequence. Young scholars and outstanding postgraduates from more than ten universities and research institutes in Hubei Province, including Wuhan University, Huazhong University of science and technology, Huazhong Agricultural University, Huazhong Normal University, China University of Geosciences, Wuhan University of technology, Wuhan Textile University, etc., have made 17 academic reports.

The conference attracted about 300 participants from inside and outside the province, demonstrated the new progress of bioinformatics research, and promoted the exchange and communication of bioinformatics scholars.
