To accelerate training a new generation talent of information technology, giving full play to the advantages of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence（CAAI） in talent training，therefore，China Association for Science and Technology （CAST）has started compiling new generation of information technology textbooks，representative courses are data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence （AI）and other technical introduction courses, the purpose is to train a large number of talents in the field of information technology to meet the needs of the development of digital economy and achieve high-quality economic development.

CAAI undertook the compilation of the textbook Introduction of Artificial Intelligence (hereinafter Introduction ) and held a seminar in Beijing on March 29. The seminar was hosted by Professor Yu Jian of Beijing Jiaotong University, he is also the executive editor of Introduction. Professor Ma Shaoping of Tsinghua University, Professor Wang Wanliang of Zhejiang University of Technology, Professor Gao Yang of Nanjing University and other experts of textbook compilation group attended the seminar.

First of all, Professor Yu expressed his great thanks to the editor of Introduction, Li Deyi, and the academician Lu Wei, Gui Weihua, Tan Tieniu, Wu Zhaohui and Dai Qionghai. They provided very helpful guidance and suggestions for the preparation of this book. Secondly, Professor Yu introduced the overall plan and writing outline of Introduction. The book is divided into 15 chapters covering various fields of AI. The first draft of each chapter has been written. This meeting is an in-depth discussion and exchange of the first draft of the book, and proposes specific arrangements for further revision of the program and the revision of the next phase.

The participating teachers conducted serious discussions on the content of each chapter. The teachers expressed their opinions and launched a heated discussion. They formed preliminary revision opinions and determined the revision and improvement plan for the next draft of the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, striving to successfully complete the preparation work.
