Notice on Organizing the 2018 University Computer Games Championship & the12th National Computer Games Tournament

Under the guidance of " widespread entrepreneurship and innovation " and "Internet +", the CAAI and the Advisory Committee of Computer in Higher Education, Ministry of Education, P.R. China continue to co-sponsor the 2018 University Computer Games Championship & the12th National Computer Games Tournament. The competition items are notified as follows.
I. Competition Purpose
In the Development Planning for a New Generation of Artificial Intelligence issued by the State Council, it is clearly pointed out that AI competitions should be carried out. Computer game competition is especially in line with the needs of the development of AI and the training of talents in new disciplines. The aim of the competition is to arouse students' enthusiasm for learning and research, effectively improve their computer skills, stimulate their innovative potential, cultivate their scientific literacy and develop their professional and technical practical skills so as to create conditions for outstanding AI talents to stand out.
Computer Games, also known as machine games, is a challenging and dynamic research field. The computer game contest insists on taking the chess and card games that students like and are highly antagonistic as the research carrier, and on the principle of combining theory with practical system construction. The competition is low investment (one computer can meet basic needs), suitable for teamwork, and conducive to docking with professional courses and their knowledge. It has strong maneuverability, transparent competition rules and accurate judgement of competition results, which can fully guarantee the fairness, openness and fairness of the competition.
II. Competition Institutions

Organizational committee will be set up to organize and implement the competition. Expert committees will be set up to judge the competition. Arbitration Commission will be set up to supervise and deal with objections during the competition.
III. Project Settings
1. University Computer Games Championship
Competition items include: Gobang, Hexagram, Point Chess, Sula Karta, Amazon, Phantom Go, No Go, Einstein Chess, Military Chess, Haix. The competition is only for college students.
2. National Computer Games Tournament
Competition items include: Chinese chess, Go, 13 routes Go, 9 routes Go, Chess (100 squares), Chess (64 squares), Two-game-one-poker (landlord), Bridge and Texas poker are nine kinds of chess and cards. The competition is open to all members of the society.
IV. Time and Place
1. Registration
The student team is organized by the school to register to ensure that the members are the students of the school. In principle, there should be no more than two teams in each school in the same chess category (Texas poker and two-game one-poker are allowed only one). Each team usually has no more than 5 players and no more than 2 instructors. Non-student teams are registered directly by yourselves. In principle, colleges and universities are required to determine the participants of the national championship through the school-level selection contest.
Registration method: through the SaiKr website (https://www.saikr.com/) to register. At the time of formal registration, the school team should submit a paper registration form with the seal of the school (educational administration or department), and the registration form should be exported from the registration system.
Registration time: June 10 - 30, 2018.
2. Competition
Competition time: August 2 - 4, 2018, 2 days for registration and Pre-competition meetings, 3 - 4 days for competition day. The specific schedule shall be based on the procedures issued by the Organizing Committee before the competition.
Venue: Anhui University (Hefei, China)
V. Rules 1. Documents concerning the specific rules of competition, general rules of competition and rules of prohibiting knock-off games are detailed on the website of the computer game contest.
2. Each project will adopt double-round or group double-round matches according to the number of teams enrolled. Seed teams will be determined by the organizing committee according to the results of previous matches. The results of the group are not brought into the final stage.
3. During the interval between two matches, the procedure and parameters can be modified or adjusted (≤10 minutes), but the computer equipment cannot be changed, except with the permission of the referee on the spot.
4. Competition shall be conducted on a fixed time basis, and the winner who completes the match within the prescribed time and has obtained the approval of both sides shall win; in case of ambiguity, the referee shall decide the winner. If the winner or loser has not been decided within the prescribed time, the referee may decide whether to play extra time or according to the chess game.
5. In principle, each team should have at least one player to operate the competition on the spot. If no player participates in the competition within the time stipulated by the referee, which affects the normal progress of the competition, the team will be disqualified from the corresponding events.
6. Require that each entry procedure be independently developed and provided with programming documents. Documents will be used as the basis for reply when competing or being questioned. Document template is detailed on the website of the competition. Signature pages need to be scanned and synthesized. PDF electronic documents will be submitted through the registration system before the competition.
VI. Awards Setting
1. Champions, runners-up and second runners-up will be awarded in all competitions, and first, second and third prizes will be set up. The Organizing Committee of the contest will issue the certificate of winning the prize.
2. In principle, the number of winning teams in the competition should not exceed 60% of the total number of participating teams. The specific incentives shall be announced separately by the organizing committee.
3. Schools with active participation and numerous prizes will be awarded "Excellent Organizational Award" and "Excellent Instructor Award" for outstanding instructors.
