Singapore Nanjing International AI Forum on Smart Cities was successfully held in Singapore Nanjing Eco Hi-Tech Island, Nanjing, on May 10, 2019, guided by The People's Government of Nanjing, Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province and International Enterprise Singapore, sponsored by Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Commerce and People's Government of Jianye District, Nanjing, co-sponsored by Zaobao Singapore, Global Times, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Business China.

This forum aims to deepen Xining cooperation and actively expand new areas of it. Lan Shaominhe, Co-Chairman of Xinning Cooperation Committee and Mayor of People's Government of Nanjing and Xu Baokun, Co-Chairman of the Xining Cooperation Committee and Senior Minister of Government of Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore), attended the meeting. Nearly 200 experts, government officials and entrepreneurs from China and Singapore participated in the forum.

The forum is sponsored by the Administrative Committee of Singapore Nanjing Eco Hi-Tech Island, Singapore Nanjing Eco Hi-Tech Island Development Co., Ltd., and Hexi Jianye City Internationalization Promotion Office.

Yang Xuepeng, executive deputy mayor of Nanjing Municipal People's Government, said in his speech at the forum that Singapore Nanjing Eco Hi-Tech Island is an influential demonstration area for research, design and application of artificial intelligence in the world built by Nanjing. The Nanjing Municipal Government will give full support to the construction and development of the project. Together with Singapore, the Nanjing Municipal Government will make every effort to promote the construction of the Smart City Demonstration Zone on the Eco-Science and Technology Island and the development of the artificial intelligence industry.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Eco-technology Island. People in the whole island have been actively carrying out the pilot work of various smart urban governance. In the future, Xinning will continue to pay attention to the development of eco-technology island. We hope that Eco-technology Island will make better use of science and technology, optimize the environment and make daily life more convenient.”

Blockbuster Release of Smart City Scenarios

At this forum, the application scenarios of the artificial intelligence demonstration area of the Eco-technology Island was released and the solutions were solicited from the whole world.

According to the plan, as a flagship project under the framework of the Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council, Singapore Nanjing Eco Hi-Tech Island will use artificial intelligence technology to upgrade the island intelligently based on the existing construction carriers. It will Focus on creating eight scenarios: intelligent ecology, intelligent transportation, intelligent community, intelligent park, intelligent education, intelligent tourism, intelligent security and intelligent government affair based on the existing construction carriers and the intelligent upgrade of islands is realized by using artificial intelligence technology. It is planned to take the lead in building a new benchmark of smart city featuring deep application of AI in China.

Witnessed by many government leaders, academic experts and entrepreneurs, the Inauguration of ACE Singapore Nanjing International Center was officially held. The project is located in Jiangdao Wisecube, an artificial intelligence Industrial Park in Eco-technology Island. In the future, we will establish the relationship between Nanjing, Singapore and East Asia Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Network, external international propaganda and carry out business innovation cooperation projects with East Asia in order to help Singapore and foreign start-up technology enterprises to understand Nanjing, landing in Nanjing and sustainable development in Nanjing.

At the Round Table Forum, the participants discussed the theme of "Enabling Smart Cities with New Ecology" and made suggestions for the development of Smart Cities Demonstration Zone.
